He also has a hard on for Reese Walsh

Will be interesting to see what Slater does next year if Ponga’s available from the start of the series.

Ponga didn’t work on the bench, at least not the way he was used. Throwing your best fullback on for tiny minutes at lock when the side is already too f**ked to go to another gear was really dumb and weakens the forward rotation. Next year Slater needs to just pick one of them but I’m not sure I could see him dropping Walsh even though he probably should.

Cleary was 7 when NSW won 2 games in QLD in 2021.

NSW didn't stuff up selections like they did in 2022 and last year, That was the main difference this year from prior years.
Selections just added to your pain. We would have won both series, whoever played

In just 2 games Dylan Edwards has scored a try, set up 2 others, won a man of the match award and won a decider in Brisbane. In 5 games Reece Walsh hasn’t scored a try or set up one and biggest moment is being sent off.
Ponga is their best FB and it ain't close

Cleary has delivered a couple of times but none of his performances match Moses’ game 2 efforts. He’s also had more average games than good ones.
Your Boy Joey declared one of Cleary's games the best ever Origin performance by a 7 in the history of the series. Think it was game 2 2021 maybe. Now we all know Joey is cooked and was probably chemically enhanced, but it was a pretty bloody good game.

Still leaving Moses or Luai out would be a tough call. If injury doesn't make the decision then Madge will need to get out the thinking cap next year. Of course Luai going to the Tigers might hurt as well. As it stands I think Cleary and Moses to start with Luai at 14 could work. Luai was a pretty handy 14 when he first hit the NRL. A bit rough for Watson, but he is a Rooster, so f**k him and the Politis he rode in on.
