No club out there is willing to swap a good asset to acquire him.

He does so much damage to the side putting in half hearted efforts.

Personally I think a couple of good signings & a change in the game plan will see things differently.

It's going to be an interesting couple of months.
Besides Bud moving on, Amone is also off-contract at the end of '24 (assuming his court case goes favourably).

The Hunt saga could actually work in our favour, as we hold all the aces, so to speak ie: play well, there will be suitors, play poorly or play 'old' you'll get no suitors.
So, if you are looking elsewhere for '25, the ball is in your court Mr Hunt.

As already said, KF seems to be the one to come in and take over the #14 role, unless Amone's case goes sour, then he'll probably slot into 6. This would give a further season for the likes of Herring, LKT or other junior halves coming through.

BTW, Sloan is also off-contract in '24, can Flanno work with his defense over the off-season? That will be the key for us in '24.

With the Saints past few performances, surely he can see more promise in them than the Dogs and Titans. As for Bronco's, I think they would rather hold onto Reynolds for an extra year or 2, they are not that stupid. That will not be an option for him.

I would have kept hunt for 2024 on the proviso he plays hooker and gives Amone/Sullivan a good full season playing together in the halves. If all goes well release Hunt in 2025 even earlier, if that is what he wants but that can't happen now.

I hope he is working at the club on Saturday and not wait till Nov 1. They need Flanno in there asap.

2 years ago the Broncos finished last or near enough. Signed Reynolds, got Walsh and the likes of Farnworth and Capewell.
Now minor premiers.

we like to sign B grade players and ‘trust in the juniors’. So many examples of how to recruit out there and we fans are doomed to more misery. I know Shane is trying to get some players of note in but it’s hard work to land one.

I'd be interested whether our marquee player and captain accepts any responsibility for not being any to draw anyone of any note.

At other clubs, it's common for people to want to play alongside elite players. Seems not so much with the Dragons elite playmaker.

If Saints don't sign anyone of note it is not Haran or Flanno's fault but the capt looking for a release. Why would a player join a club when the capt of the club is threatening an early release? If Hunt want's Saints to improve to make finals he is best to freakin' promote the club so players want to join not make it seem like a team of no hope. The capt plays a big role in attracting players just as much as the coach.

It's been quiet in the Dragons news desk of late but I am hoping next week Flanno officially starts and all these supposed moves he is doing in the background come to light to excite us for 2024.

Blame Flanagan as it was he that said he wanted no one but Hunt as his half and captain. I now wonder whether we have made a big mistake allowing this bloke to take the reins of our beloved club.
