With Curtis Scott, he has off field issues that is for sure but so did Ben Barba and Flanno took a huge punt with him and Barba played a huge role that season in winning the comp. No reason why he cannot do the same with Scott if Flanno thinks he would be of any benefit. Flanno is not shy of giving bad boys a chance if he feels they can improve what he has.

Billy Burns seems to be gone and Bird looks to be in better shape looking at the pics we have seen so far.

Old cliche we hear every year but this off season will be one of the most important ones for Saints. If they have a great off season and all players improve even just slightly to last season, those games they lost by a few points will turn to wins and put them in much better shape in 2024. No need to stress over signings, just get these boys to play to their potential.
I said it many times last season; Saints biggest problem is fitness.

We also have Cody & Junior in our 30 who probably won't be there by the start of next season.. 2 spine players.

I think Tracey will be one that we will get easily, I think if he puts enough pressure the Sharks will let him go.. he doesn't even have a starting spot.. he will of signed a contract at another club for 2025.. he's far from a future immortal.. not as good as Kennedy/Hynes/Trindall, plus they have Moylan and Dykes is a gun right.. seems obvious to me.. it frees up a spot in their roster for a player that is staying.. anyway it will definitely help with our spine depth issue if/when we land him.

Hey thanks for bailing me out a bit Slippery Morris on Curtis Scott. My little toe in the water post didn’t go over that well haha.

If Curtis Scott cracks an NRL contract with whoever and settles in his life and football; he is a top shelf centre!

While Barba also had off field issues, he was in an experienced team with strong leaders that was GF bound who would have laid the law down to him not to step out of line. While it was a couple of years ago and some of the culprits are no longer there, our mob were told don't have a bbq and what did they do? I know it was under Hook but just shows a lack of respect. No thanks to Scott.

I don't think he will get an nrl contract anywhere

Look at our team!

I mean, go to the dragons web site and look... It's still not done. How many times has this been brought up, including at meetings with the management, and yet they still can't get this done.

Wishlist 24/25

5/8
Halfback
Fullback
Prop
Backrow edge
Hooker

We have max 5 spots unless we move on a few others ie the 4 below must have targets on their backs to find new clubs

Fegai x 2
BMM
Birdy

If that was the case then we have up to 9 spots available once Ramsey and Amone have been addressed

Cannot see any NRL club taking any of those 4 off our books except as depth signings

Flanno will give everyone of them a chance to perform, it’s up to those 4 guys to earn a spot on in the 17 otherwise they will end up on the bench in the KOE Cup

Surely the Dogs will be happy to sign Bird to add to their list of utilities 🙄

I understand that Curtis Scott looking for a club. Yes, we are aware of reported problems with him. Only 26 and from memory in storm‘s premiership winning 2017 team.

I remember one unbelievable try for Melbourne where he ran about 95 metres from standing start and kept beating blokes one after another With shear will, strength and speed. Others on the forum may remember it also.

Anyway, with his mind on the job a fabulous player.
You need to google "Curtis Scott".

You thinks Curtis Scott is just a "bad boy"? Needs a slap on the wrist?

On Sen radio this morning.
Cody Ramsay is long odds to play.
The Dragons have spaced his contract payments in order to look after him and not rush him into coming back
He doesn't want to medically retire in order to have a chance to come back.
He has had at least half a dozen operations already.
I wish him all the best.
The club loves having him around.

The reality is that the NRL would have just said we pay him out as it is a non football retiring condition and we would get salary cap dispensation

This is a much more thoughtful way to make it happen for the same $ result and no advantage over and an above the rules

Smart
And keeping him in the system helps him to keep getting club support, not to mention boosting his mood and happiness. Should he come good, he never left the system, otherwise it gives him time to transition. On the other side, he is a positive for the club and team. All good

If the NRL force Saints to keep Cody within the cap whilst the kid is getting medical treatment then they are just heartless. Seriously, why should he be included in the cap whilst he is medically not supported to return after missing a whole season and possibly more seasons due to a debilitating disease not an injury?
