Mail or guessing?Complete overhaul coming in 2025
15-17 players will either leave or not be resigned
Supp players is the new term for the old "development" players. Rather than only being able to play from round 10 onwards, supplementary players can now play from round 1. Maximum of 6 players can be on this list. Train and trial players are a level below this, and get paid about $1200 a week whilst they train with the first grade squad. Used to not be able to play NRL at all but can now play from round 11 onwards. Can some one please explain what is the difference with A Supplementary player and a train and trail .Can they both play first grade at any stage of the season .Thanks
I don't think the plan is to put Ramsey on any sort of playing contract, he'll technically just be an employee of the club over the next two seasons at least.I thought the RLPA agreement increased supp list to 10 not 6 or was that one of the things that was knocked on the head in negotiations.
If you are correct on 6 then if Ramsey is bumped back into that list you may find one of the others promoted to top 30. Muhl if we dont get another hooker ASAP?

Excuse my ignorance but why can't Saints simply employ Ramsey - not as a player? If and when he's healthy enough to play again why couldn't they give him a contract as a player at that future time? The poor guy's crook. We just want to pay him a living wage and we hope his health is eventually restored. Seems a lot of unnecessary dicking around IMO.Yep Ramsey would be paid but not on a contract is my understanding, but if he ever did get back to playing, we would have to lose someone to fit him in.. which is obvious but I think helps to articulate it when convincing the NRL.
I'm hoping the NRL will resolve this quickly, they took was it 4 months+ last year and it destroyed any chance of us finding a replacement.. but there was no blowback on them (which is I assume what they were scared of), and I think everyone has sympathy for the situation now given its rolling into a second year.
