Gold star wallaby test out-rated by two hopeless bottom of the ladder nrl teams? Delicious
I guess it justifies 9's decision to move the Union to GEM in favour of the NRL on the main channel ( although 9 are probably contractorly obliged to have NRL on main channel ? )

If the Wallabies are out rated by the Tigers what can Rugby Australia realistically expect for thier next TV contract ? RA are hoping for a large increase needed to pay off thier loan.

Having said that, both the Union and NRL were out rated by Die Hard... why pay a fortune for sports rights when you could just show action movies from the 90's lol

Couple of things. our ratings were probably affected by the union being on, and secondly how can the union possibly hope to get a larger contract when they have shrunk their competition by 20%.

Partially off-topic question -

Current L.U. forum member count is 30,616. BigFumble claim to have just short of 110k members.

L.U. thread "2024 Crowd Watch" has 400k views. Equivalent BF thread "2024 AFL and State League Attendance" has 126k views.

L.U. thread "2024 TV and Streaming Ratings Discussion" has 96k views. Equivalent BF thread "2024 AFL TV Ratings" has 19k views.

Wonder if Wookie (or anyone else) could explain the discrepancies?

disccusion about ratings isnt really a thing on bigfooty. I barely post there any more.

They only sing when they are winning

The AFL overtaking NRL in QLD thread has been quiet as well this year

“After nine rounds of the competition almost 1.59 million New Zealanders have enjoyed matches on Sky Sport and free-to-air on Sky Open, a lift of 14% year-on-year.[1]”

so regular nrl season will be 4.6 million
Adding finals and tests nz audience will be 6 million plus
