Theres talk at the moment of reducing fixtures in SL to avoid the loop fixtures. Will be a hard sell to clubs as most of their revenue comes from gameday. Problem over there is the challenge cup extends the season. I guess the only option if they want to be in the Int calendar is them starting the season earlier.
