The Broncos won the title despite having the 7th best defence overall. That must be one of the lowest defensive ranked teams to win the comp in a while (they did have the best attack though).
Pretty good sign of our own teams progress to be the last team to beat the premiers at their home ground this season.

Their game just went to shit. The kick chase was non existent in the second half.
When they were both needed, Munster and Grant were quiet. Everything was going through Hughes and the Papenhuyzen (though I lost count how many times he tried that same flick pass in the second half).

Very happy for my wife who is a lifelong Brisbane fan. We’d only been together a year the last time the broncos won it, and I’ve probably lost my son (turned 13 today) to the dark side/broncos I reckon after seeing how much happiness, passion he had with his mum at that final whistle. 8 years as an eels member and he hasn’t had anything to really cheer for (nor have I as a 40 year old).

hopefully we get there someday, I reckon I’ll have a mental breakdown the day it happens
I was 18 when we last won it, I’m 57 now…. food for thought, upside is I witnessed all 4 comp wins

I think we are at least 3 years away from where broncs are now, if no significant signings, maybe longer, potential needs experience

I think one flick pass shouldve been taken by the winger and they shouldve scored.

I think wishart was bad for them. No strike at centre againt katoni too

Lastly he shouldve gone himself when reece came at him and dive early and trust momentum and hoping reece wouldnt expect it

So even if you include 2007 and 2009 as wins.

Bellamy has still lost more GFs then he has won.

His record is 5 wins 6 losses from the 11 GFs.

And in the 6 losses they were the higher ranked side on 5 occasions only 2018 to the roosters did the team that beat them on GF day finish above them on the ladder.

If you combine his origin record into his GF record its now sitting 7 wins 13 losses.

His a great coach that has put a system in place that gets plodders playing above themselves.

That they are perennial top 4 and there on GF day.

Something we could only dream of.

But lets be frank Wayne Bennett still has it over him in big games.

And when it comes to the greatest coaches Bennett has him covered.

Has won comps at 2 x clubs, won origin in 3 different eras including one of the worst QLD sides of all time in 2020. And was the unofficial coach for the Kiwis in 2008 when they won the WC.

Plus has made GFs with another 2 clubs.

For the record Jack Gibson on GF day is.

5 wins 1 loss

So if you want to get technical Bellamy still hasn't passed Jack yet either on the GF wins.

I go with Bellamy as the better coach. Bennett basically had QLD SOO teams playing for him in Brisbane, plus a NSW origin prop and all time great in Lazarus.
In addition to number of GF’s Bellamy has also made the prelim 16 times vs Bennett with 14.
16 prelim finals shows Melbourne don’t just make the finals, they have the quality to go deep.
I think that’s more impressive than the number of times they’ve made the final.
That said, your point is valid; he’s lost more than he’s won and now just lost 2 in a row…

Time for the Storm to move Bellamy on and hire Brad Arthur..

Dont know man, I reckon are forwards collectively are more agile and skillfull than theirs

Defensively we will be tougher with Debelin. Our inexperienced spine will have a full off season together

We beat them at full strength up there, probably a stronger side as Hunt at 9 and Walters from the bench.

I reckon we can make the top 8 next year and if we mimick how we played back end of this year we will cause some damage. Challenge for the title in 2027 is a given - touch wood

Is there anything that the Dolphins can do to take advantage of this trying to steal some of the attention? Maybe the QRL/NRL could pay for them to do an ad campaign right now. I'll think of some other things of that nature and report back. One thing they could do is actually call themselves Brisbane. Now would be the time to do it as well. Change their name to Brisbane United Dolphins.

My god spending a night with arrogant two headed Donkey's fans, half these soft cocks forgot about RL for years now they are super fans.

Knowing POS like Walsh and Ma'am are premiership winners make me ill.
Still better than Storm winning, I see ur point though

Didnt the Broncos lose a game by 50 this season?
34 was the highest score they conceded against Manly this year.

I heard last week on the radio if they won they were to become the first premiership team to win a comp and concede double digits scores in every game.

Never kept a team under 12 points all season.
