A big part of that is due to Ben Hunt....he had a very good game as well. He took so much pressure off Reynolds. I think Mam will need to bide his time in reserves if that continues.

Hunt at 9, and then Walters can go where he should be-reserve grade. Paix is better

I suspect Mam won't be just walking back into the team like nothing ever happened. It will take an injury.

Walters is the better 14 anyway, he can play in the halves and play hooker. I suspect Madge knows this and it went into his thinking when selecting the team.

100% agree with this. Why on Earth would you put an asset like Hunt into hooker where he'll need to make 30+ tackles a game? That Hunt-Renno combo looks as smooth as silk at the moment, taking pressure off each other.

Mam may be a better player than Walters....but Walters is a far better utility than Mam.

In saying that, a lot can happen in a season and Reynolds is made of glass.

I don't have the data in front of me but I daresay whenever Hunt has played 9 for QLD, it's been something where he's just playing that position to manage Harry Grant's workload. I think fans get carried away thinking he could play hooker week in and week out in the NRL, we haven't seen it. I don't think he's overly keen on it either.

There was this weird 15mins window where everyone acted like Young was good and the Roosters pulled off a coup.
He's a downhill skiier. When the Chooks are up by 50, he's right in the mix, but when the going is tough, he's a fairy.

How the Bunker awarded that 2nd try of his is beyond me. Oh well, they've already won, and it won't get any press...but WTF?

Correct again. For Origin, I'd think any player is prepared to play out of position when they are surrounded by the best players in their state. Hunt is more than capable of playing hooker in an ability sense.

Week in, week out is a different ball game though. Considering his age, build and his great playmaking ability, it would be such a stupid move to play him at hooker if you have the club resources not to play him there. Paix looked very comfortable there, they have Smoothy and Blake on the horizon.

Yep, one of the bigger downhill skiiers I've seen in the modern era. The lack of effort in some of his defensive plays were terrible.

If tonight's halves continue to be as smooth as they were tonight, f**k Mam. Even Mam never really took that much pressure off Reynolds........Hunt did tonight. Lets see if that continues,

maybe but so did Mam when we reached the GF. Last year was a write off for a number of reasons. I expect Mam to come back at 6 but he’ll start in reserve grade first

Mam will play his part at some point. If Reynolds does not get injured, I'd expect the Broncos to rest him through different periods of the season anyway.

Christ bloodbath.

Radley
Butcher
Leinu

Hargreaves

Do that to any pack and it spells disaster. Broncos had their way with them.

E Butcher, Va'a and Brandon Smith unavailable too

I know the latter is out of favour and may not play for us again but you would have to imagine he would have got a run last night if fit.

Once Radley, Leniu and the butchers return things will improve but none of them will be there next week so could be 50 again depending on how bothered Penrith are.

Lindsay Collins also needs to stop being a little bitch at club level and have a go. Whyte was far better than him and has a bright future.

Also think we need to move ZDC to starting hooker. Watson just isn't an 80 minute hooker and he would be far more useful at lock or off the bench. If not ZDC then give Moriarty a go who looks the goods, this is the year to blood them.

You need to spend a little bit. Some more forward depth. Just a one year deal kind of thing. A player with discipline who can handle the opening stint.

It was spoken about last year. Two valuable assets in Watson and Leinu and they kept been put in as starters. Necessary or not they are much more effective riding the pine.
