I think Trell did a head fake dummy kick for a grubber in behind the line which was meant to induce Young to come in a bit. I'm not sure if that worked or if Young was just thinking he was out far enough.

The Souths had a broken cannon bone above the pastern, a broken sesamoid bone behind the fetlock, and a broken long pastern bone below the fetlock. The fetlock joint was dislocated, and their foot was left dangling loosely. Yet they still won by 6 lengths, eased up.

Roosters suck but also….so far this year the comp kinda sucks cos it just seems like no teams are actually “good” and teams with balls who try hard are winning. Look at the Raiders, Rabbitohs, Warriors. None of these teams really have the cattle or the skill but they’re winning by hanging tough. In a sense that’s cool, but it also speaks volumes about a lack of genuine quality in the comp.

The NRL/boxing crossover is weird but I like that a good working class sport like rugby league is associating itself with a good working class sport like boxing and not weirdo ass bitch ass MMA

Souths have been kissed on the dick this year. Of their four wins they've only scored more tries than their opposition in one game (last week V Panthers) Their wins V Dolphins and Roosters were 3 tries each and against the Dragons they were outplayed 5 tries to 4.

Nope, I know. Clearly didn't touch the line, pass was absolutely back out of the hands. It was a floater not a bullet so it could have floated marginally in front of where he passed it (I don't think it did) but that ain't illegal
It was a nice pass, but forward. He was running sideways so no momentum on the ball.

But it does. It was backwards out of the hands and drifted in front of the point it was thrown with momentum, which is not illegal. Otherwise like I said, literally every pass thrown on the run is illegal.
That makes sense to me when the passer is running forwards towards the opponent’s try line but Latrell was running more sideways. Least I thought he was

Nah, he faked and jinked and was moving forward when he passed. That's why he ended up closer to the tryline than Tass when Tass caught it.

But hey, where's the fun in simple match winners?

Also, have we basically seen a return to small fullbacks?

None of the top fullbacks are big anymore...f**ken 12kg Jye Grey made 260m off 23 runs in this game.

Someone should offer Bevan French 800k.

I don't think that's true. They have been in grinds 3 weeks in a row and seemed more than willing to be in it with for the most part very good goal line defence. They just don't have the attack to score points at the moment so the defence will always ultimately fail.

On this occasion it wasn't even something dumb that changed momentum. It was the ridiculous rule where the receiving team can't touch the ball before it goes 10. Like literally that ball bounces half a meter from the try line and souths benefit. The rule should either be a penalty if it doesn't go 10 on the fly or the receiving team can touch it whenever they wish. It turned momentum twice in that game.

And it's not one way, we got one as well towards the end off of a kick off. Absolutely ridiculous that souths get penalized for that.
In the last 3 weeks they’ve been in the grind and lost all 3 weeks, aside from the bad luck there’s also a common theme of the roosters being their own worst enemies. Sure the attack isn’t great but that doesn’t excuse the errors and ill discipline. The past 3 weeks they’ve have under 70 completion rate every week and given away almost twice as many penalties as the opposition during that period. To me that lack of discipline has plagued the rooster for a few years now but in the past they had enough individual talent to overcome it, this year it’s not the case.
