Yeh but you didn’t highlight the notes so I thought you were just making it up like usual

Funny thing is. I did that exactly two posts later.

It’s still a huge loss for you anyway you said they were nowhere near 5 million and the real figure was 13.7 million

lol

Its not really a loss - Ive always said Ill go with the data when its reported - and Im not sure Im wrong anyway. Im almost certain theyve posted a cumulative reach figure for NZ and reported it wrong.

Why don’t you pull up where you said there was no way in the world the nz ratings would be 5 million total

Sure if you have no idea just say so don’t backtrack after

Ah so now you are “sure” it’s a reach number so you are accusing the arl of being misleading

Keep digging champ

The articles all use average ratings data

This is low even for you

“The NRL claims to have a cumulative match viewership over all competitions of 200.5 million in 2024 - comprising 186.8 million Australian viewers and 13.7 million from New Zealand - to post a total 8.6 per cent higher than the previous year.

Over 213 matches, the NRL has 153.7 million cumulative viewers, 10 per cent higher than the AFL’s mark of 140.3 million over 216 matches.”

I still dont think they are, but I accept the official position until proven otherwise. Which may never happen

Ill backtrack when you admit to being full of crap yourself.

I believe that having an opinion on this isnt a f**king federal crime.

Yes, Im talking to to the NRL reporter about it at the moment.

I mean sure its gospel when the NRL do it, but bullshit when the AFL do.

  • Kayo Sports’ biggest weekend ever driven by blockbuster event schedule including the Australian Grand Prix, AFL, NRL, The PLAYERS Championship, Supercars, and WSL Championship Tour.
  • More than 879 million minutes streamed, setting a new record for most minutes streamed across a single weekend.
  • Sunday’s Australian Grand Prix race becomes the most-watched Formula 1® race of all time across Kayo Sports and Foxtel.

Minutes watched - they did the same thing for the Vegas opener. Going to be the focus for Fox/DAZN, as it is for most streamers.

Talk to whatever reporter you want whoopie do

You said nz tv ratings were nowhere near five milion

You’ve also said tv ratings are not the most relevant stat to determine tv deals

Yet the nrl themselves are using that metric as a reason to justify a bigger tv deals than afl

It’s not the first time I’ve seen you questioning nrl tv ratings yet never once questioned afl on their crowd figures which are pure bs.

Yet quoted without question as a sign of afl popularity

Doesn’t really tally does it?

first 9 rounds 1.59 million avg = 169k per round
next 18 rounds 12.1 million avg = 636k per round

that would be a hell of an uplift in audience after round 9! Although those rd 9 reported figures make no sense either as they say there was a total of 1.59 mill then go on to mention Two warriors games that drew over 400k to each of them?

Individual warriors games have been reported as getting 450k to 500k

Over the entire rugby league season from feb till nov 13.7 million seems perfectly reasonable

Anyone actually claiming it’s reach is an idiot

Obviously extra coverage on nz fta has helped

And Dazn are sitting on the sidelines and could be getting both the Aussie and nz pay tv rights

“The One New Zealand Warriors’ matches are the most popular so far with the match against the Raiders on March 22 attracting an audience of 469,800 people with a further 63,800 viewers streaming on Sky Sport Now and Sky Go.[3]

“The Warriors v Sharks match on March 8 was the second most popular with 461,100 people watching and more than 64,280 streaming while Warriors v Sea Eagles contest came in third with 433,800 people watching and nearly 74,500 streaming.”
