I am having Waqa Blake flash backs. I am not the biggest fan of constantly shifting a player between centre and wing. The skill sets and requirements have changed significantly since the 2010's. They are not as 'interchangeable' as they used to be.
Mostly agree. Crichton was obviously good enough to handle it and Alamoti has done very well

Casey didn’t even look at his outside man when he made that break, he’s done that before. Both times he was looking inside for support but didn’t look outside and immediately angled back in field when in the clear. That is something he needs to work on but it’s not something you drop him for yet. That being said a centre making a break is going to have support from his winger outside him often than not so he absolutely has to look for him as soon as he hits space.

The cowboys one that could’ve won the game, that was different imo. He saw the support and he saw that f**ker at fb who always goes for an in intercept in that situation so he tried a shit dummy and got tackled. Not good obviously but I don’t think it’s hogging, I dare say on the tip sheet for cows would be that their fb will go knock down or intercept on 2v1s.

The cows one was definitely a bad one. This week it looked like there was a defender between them but yeah hopefully Ivan reminds him to look left and right like he's crossing the road.

We can!!
Of course we can.

But time is slipping away. That 1 point we threw away against the Cowboys might end up costing us. Along with other losses that never should have happened like Roosters round 2.

We might have a weird scenario where we beat all the top 4 teams this year and miss the finals. Big game DNA is still there and if we scrape the 8 every other team will be shitting their pants. But we've lost the opportunity to coast through the rep season. It's all hands on deck.

That NZ away game is shaping up as our grand final. In the pre-season we would have marked that one down as a loss with no players backing up. Considering the circumstances if Cleary and co are fit they are playing. I'd back them to win it but the cost on recovery and injuries will catch up with us.
We can afford to lose in NZ. We can’t afford to lose Cleary, Yeo or Edwards to an injury for any length of time.

The worst part about Origin for us is that all our selected players have highly physical play styles.

To'o and Edwards do a tonne of hit ups and contact work. Yeo plays big minutes with a high work rate. Marto also does big minutes and chases the contact.

None of them have a playstyle that is conducive to backing up. Not even Nathan. I remember Gus remarking a bunch of years ago how Nathan covered more of the field than any other player, he ran at least 500 metres more than the next best player as per the tracker.

Traditionally outside backs and halves (especially wingers) were shoe ins to back up because they didn't get through all that much 'work'. But not our guys...

There is no way the origin guys are playing in perth on wednesday and then NZ on Saturday, not a chance in hell, it would be negligent to let them.

Ruled out a few week ago.

But Penrith have already indicated their NSW stars won't back up in round 16, given they play in Auckland three days after Origin II in Perth.

I think it was a direct quote from Ivan after a presser.

Lets be honest the season is over. No top 8. We haven't even won back-back games this year. It has been a disappointing year with the players and resources we have. Massively underachieving.

We are playing for pride now and developing players for 26.

Get through Origin and then have a late run trying to avoid the spoon. That is the only realistic target.

I dont know where we will finish this yr,but we definitely need a roster overhaul.Guys like Laurie Schneider eisenhuth toelau geyer riki all need to go.You can't be i nsw cup for 3-4 yrs and when you get a call up your shit.Out with the old and in with the new i say.Go and recruit some big bodies forwards and outside backs. We have some young guys coming through but they take a bit of time.Next guys up are Edgar attard fale armstrong and Clarke. The newcastle game has definitely ended some careers i reckon.

We need a roster tweak at the very least. Better fringe. Guys hungry for an opportunity. Ideally a bit of power for our pack.

If we can't get out of the bottom 4 by the end of the season. Some tough calls will need to be made.
