My point - which you've admitted you don't understand - is that we haven't exactly demonstrated a demand to move more than the existing two games to Anz.
I know you've been wanting us to move more games there for some time, and since you aren't addressing the various points made in my posts I predict this will just go around in circles (but again, no need for PMs to further discuss my posts ;-)).
its not such a problem right now seeing the eels fans are coming out in big numbers but by taking games to anz which is a home or secondary ground for a number of other teams we risk turning our home game into their home game if their fans turn up and ours dont
Thanks Mark, I think that clears up Suity's point for me, and all expressed in a manner that acknowledges the possibilities of differing points of view.I can see what you are saying Bart, but I can also see what Suity is saying. TBH, I don't think your point is redundant, but it doesn't buy into the speculation that Suity and Strider have come up with which is what it is without solid research data to back it up.
Their point is that if the word gets out to the Media, that a game is going to be a sell out. unless it is a "Special Event" game people wont line up to get tickets, they indeed wont bother trying to go and get average seats for a regular home and away game and they will just watch it on the box.
I also believe Ron Jeremy has been making the same statement for years now, that if the Stadium capacity doesn't rise and tickets become easier to get then we face the fact we may not sell out many games because availability is to limited to allow walk up punters to watch the boys play.
But still we need some continued very big crowds at Parramatta Stadium to warrant any move, The Dragons game was disappointing, as was the Manly game, I know a lot of the talk around the club was having 2 sell outs at the start of the Season, and they fact they didn't Manly put down to the limited availability of tickets and they way we sold them
Indeed with our manner in which our club released tickets for the First round, I was surprised we got as many as we did, however if that game had been at ANZ, with more than double the seats available just in the lower bowl, we may have had a lot more away fans and casual fans turn up.
I guess that's the bit I missed. Maybe I didn't draw the lines to what you were posting, and the posts you had read somewhere at some point that moved you to post here in repsonse to them. You seem to be missing my point though.
There were people complaining about moving ANY games there.
All I stated was that the two games we took there drew significantly bigger crowds than what otherwise wouldn't have been attainable at Parra.
Do I want to move more games there? Perhaps. but not many. Maybe only a Dragons and Tigers game. Both could easily draw more than Parra's capacity.
Suity
unfortunately i had to let those fairfax researchers go .... but never fear, i now have a team of monkeys on hand working feverishly at the task
So your getting News Limited research team after hours huh?
