34 maybe, but why is 30 past it? This isn't tennis, Jayasuriya, Sachin and Sangakkara were still bringing it when they were touching 40. Not saying Finch is anywhere remotely in that class but 30 should be a cricketers prime time.

He's not past it just because he's thirty. Why on Earth would you persist with a woefully out of form front foot slogger who is thirty years old, has never been a consistently quality batsman and has only scored 3 hundreds in his last 41 ODI games, over a not yet 23 year old with loads of potential who may even be a future Australian captain down the line? It's nonsensical. At 30 years old he's struggling big time, and he's also an ordinary fielder so he's not even contributing in other ways. He's the past and we should be looking to move on.

I still remember how poor Khawaja was when he was last in the ODI side, so until he can improve his running between the wickets, fielding, & general enthusiasm, then i wouldn't reward him with a place in the side.

In tests the game moves a lot slower, so his deficiencies aren't exposed as much.

Khawaja has definitely improved his running between the wickets, and he's no worse in the field than Finch. Given he's the better batsman you still come out on top if he replaces Finch

Khawaja is better in the field than Finch. Went to the game yesterday and Finch has a custard arm of Aaron O'Brien proportions.

Finch is just shite.

I don't know what it is about Victoriania, but geez they churn out some woeful 'cricketers'.

Quick go at a Victoriania Test/Odi combined XI.

1. Aaron Finch
2. Cameron White
3. Rob Quiney
4. Marcus North
5. Matthew Wade
6. Glenn Maxwell
7. Mick Lewis
8. Brad Williams
9. Scott Boland
10. Fawad Ahmed
11. Bryce McGain

That is a mouth watering line up.

While North and Williams were Victorians by birth I think they were both playing for WA when they were selected weren't they? I'm trying to think of other Victorians to replace them with

Game on

Bit of rain about, but looks to be clear during game time
Hopefully the drainage system is ok at Manuka, otherwise could be a delayed start

kiwis to level the series here, they are gun Chappell-Hadlee performers, kinda like the ABs and the Bledisloe

1-1 going into game 3, nothing surer

Not so convinced PB - but they will be disappointed with their first performance, which contained some poor patches - I guess to be fair at the end of the day the key difference was Smith really made us pay, if Guptill had have batted deep it might have gotten close - the game was enjoyable imo, but both teams will have work-ons, understandable given their preparations

Warnie wants his mate the Toyman in all 3 forms of the game, they really need to stop asking him for opinions

What sort of f**kwit would have the No Show in the test team

Wayne Phillips is one. And Simon Davis somehow also played a test match.

If it's the Simon Davis I am thinking of, he was a fair white ball bowler?

Yeah he was quite solid in the canary yellow uniform, I wouldn't lump him in with that lot...

Throw Tony Dodemaide in instead....
