34 maybe, but why is 30 past it? This isn't tennis, Jayasuriya, Sachin and Sangakkara were still bringing it when they were touching 40. Not saying Finch is anywhere remotely in that class but 30 should be a cricketers prime time.
He's not past it just because he's thirty. Why on Earth would you persist with a woefully out of form front foot slogger who is thirty years old, has never been a consistently quality batsman and has only scored 3 hundreds in his last 41 ODI games, over a not yet 23 year old with loads of potential who may even be a future Australian captain down the line? It's nonsensical. At 30 years old he's struggling big time, and he's also an ordinary fielder so he's not even contributing in other ways. He's the past and we should be looking to move on.
