For discussion on the 2nd ODI at Eden Park Auckland

Unusual start time for a One Day Cricket match of 12pm NZT

So does that make it a day game?

Yeah 12pm start is a bit weird, though only weird cause we are used to 2.15pm-ish starts

Maybe its a fairly normal and regular occurance over there, maybe some of our friends from accross the tasman may confirm?

From the 1st ODI, we need to capatilise a bit more when we get quick starts. Try and push it along rather than slow it right down which we tend to do at times. Probably should have got to 300

Bollinger and Harris need to turn it around. We canlt have McCullum and co getting off to another flyer. I don't like Haddin opening the batting especially not with Watson. I think we need Clarke to open with Watson that way we have a hitter and an accumulator!

Going to this one, boys better not let me down! With the redevelopment I'm guessing the capacity is like 20k.

Aussies looking to break a 5 game losing streak in ODI's on NZ soil.
I'd say they are a chance of avoiding making it a half dozen game losing streak too, but they need to learn from past mistakes. Firstly, they need to become a more ruthless side; when the foot is on the oppositions throat, don't let it off. Secondly, they need the confidence to bowl Nathan Hauritz for 10 overs against the Kiwi's. He hardly bowled in Napier and if you pick a guy, you should back him to succeed rather than go in with the pre-concieved notion that the NZ batsmen will smash the living daylights out of him. Lastly, the captain needs to take charge and lead from the front; if a fifty or century is in the offing, then really nail it home. That'll give the troops the belief that they can compete with the Kiwi's.

Is it still the old configuration? You know, forward defensive block, inside edge, six runs?

Some of the boundaries are Eden Park are cringe worthy. If the wicket has any pace in it it could be bowler suicide watch...

Nah mate, you don't have to be high to think it's possible for you guys to compete with the Kiwi's. Sure it's possible. Aim high, think big - anything's possible in life. Never lose the faith, k? That's what being a fan is all about!

The biggest issue for Australia is that their bowling attack is pretty green. Bollinger, Harris, Hauritz....they don't have the depth of experience at international ODI level like the seasoned Kiwi veterans. If aussie get on a losing streak, how will these guys react to the pressure. Probably like this: :crazy:

Michael Hussey knows what it's like to be mauled by the Kiwi's. He came here as a proud Australian captain, and lost every match. The result: he was dropped as captain & he's never been the same player since. But he's still in the team and it's a credit to him that he's hung in there.

If Tuffey bowls 10..it could be ugly that is all I'll say, and if Harris decides to serve up meat pies like he has in the last 2 games, he'll be in trouble!
