England declares for 6/551.

Bill Lawry picked it. Greig is a goose.

Brilliant play by Collingwood and Pieterson. England will love it if their bowlers show half as much fight as Collingwood did.

Langer gone. Good bouncer from Flintoff, sharp catch from Pieterson.

Aust 1/8.

Barmy Army - gone absolutely bonkers.

Full credit to Flintoff btw.

Prior to his declaration this was basically the worst day of cricket I can remember watching. Now it's been an intense final half-hour and although the game is still very much poised to become a draw, he's put all the pressure on Australia to return fire. Good stuff.

Worst, but for the reason that it was painfully boring for large periods.

Some fine Pieterson strokeplay, aggressive bowling after the declaration, and the camera panning over to the Barmy Army losing their heads with excitement saved the day from sending most into a coma.

Regardless, it should now be considered a pretty decent day of cricket that was tempered briefly by very poor tactics from Warne and Ponting.

The day was very boring and England may rue this day. IMO scoring at 3 or 3.5 rpo is pathetic when you are on top of the bowling.

Yeah, Warne around the wicket was the most boring negative bowling. I wish England had gone after the bowling a bit more about half an hour before they declared too.

Collingwood and Pietersen though-stand up and take a bow, good inningses.

I like Greig and Lawry.

you're an idiot locky...

for all the talk about aggression and spirit if the game, the Aussies were pathetic.

It's official, Warne is terrified of bowling to Pieterson, so resorted to leg theory... laughable - arguably the greatest leg spinner ever reduced to that by someone who's played barely a year of test cricket... He had no idea, and clearly wasn't prepared to engage in a game of cricket with KP

Wrong JJ, he actually troubled Pieterson around the wicket. It was a smart move. It stopped the flow of runs and kept him quiet for a while. Good move.
