Where are the geniuses saying this was a flat dead pitch that would offer nothing?

What have they done to the most picturesque cricket ground in the world??..

It's enough to bring a grown man to tears..

"Picturesque" doesn't pay the bills. "Picturesque" wasn't saving the SACA from being on the doorstep of bankruptcy.

Why is bm trolling the thread. What a sad sack.

Watson and smith got out playing dumb shots. Smith played around a regulation delivery. Hardly the pitch performing miracles.

What can we scramble our way to now, maybe 300? 350? Massive partnership this one, if it's ended quickly we may not even get 250.

From the looks of it, Smith needs to run down to the nets and brush up on his leggies. His bowling could be quite important in this match.

Steve Smith

wow, what an awful Australian top 6... Clarke the only test class player there imo, the others all borderline or simply not up to it... lot will fall on Haddin and Johnson - this Aust team's batting has Kiwi like qualities to it :sarcasm:

Nothing outrageous about the Smith dismissal and Warner + Watson got themselves out.

Why is bm trolling the thread. What a sad sack.

Watson and smith got out playing dumb shots. Smith played around a regulation delivery. Hardly the pitch performing miracles.

The Rogers dismissal turned sharply.

There are visible rough patches halfway through day one. The Adelaide Oval bloke even just now said they've cooked it to try and make sure there is a result. Drop in pitches are not inherently dead lifeless things. A pitch curator who wants to do something with them can easily do it.

Swann, Lyon and Panesar will have big roles to play in the 2nd innings.

I hope this is an indication of a long term plan. The SCG has become much less of a turner in recent years. I hope the people in Adelaide make their pitch Australias great spin ground of the future.

For the development of our players we need more varied conditions.

Oh Joy!!

Sutherland really needs to be shot in the face.

This we can all agree with. The pissing on Shield for the sake of the BBL which has been going on for years now is a disgrace.

Why can't they f**king play BBL either before or after an uninterrupted full schedule of Shield games.
