I'd drop Rogers for Hughes. Especially for Perth. Rogers is better against spin but as an opener he's nowhere near as good against quicks. Hughes has a much better chance of getting us through the new ball on a lively Perth pitch.

You are a fool though! Rogers was one of the better bats in the first innings! LOL Hughes good against quickes...Chris Martin come on down:lol:

Anyone still think not making us follow on was a good idea? :D

You could roll through us for 50 and we'd still be overwhelming favourites to win. These wickets don't change anything. Even if our bowlers get a couple of hours off it's still worth it.

They'd be getting a whole night off in a few hrs anyway, how would it be worth it?

Getting bowled out for under 100 opens the possibly of a loss even if it is slim.

If I was skipper, I would have enforced the follow on - we are on top. Go for the jugular.

And I know Johnson is inconsistent and has his detractors, but he has been phenomenal these last two Tests.

Australian teams don't enforce the follow on anymore. Been long out of fashion, ever since Eden Gardens. Doubt they would have even considered it today.

We aren't complete shit like England.
Even with a couple down already we will still make 200+

Yes... and no.

Even if Aussie reeled off a 300 run win, if they got rolled for 50 England will be sure to remember that in the upcoming tests. Look at the big picture.

hard to believe this team holds the ashes the way they have bent over the bonnet and spread their cheeks

Monty showed more heart then their top order combined

I know.

But I think it would have been the right call for us - get Harris and Johnson bowling fast and aggressively at them and work them over. We can go to Perth two-nil up.

I still think we can win, but I was puzzled by Pup's decision. He's usually a fairly aggressive captain.

England are scared. They have nothing. Australia could declare now if they wanted and still win easily. Absolutely no risk batting again. It's putting the boot in more than enforcing the follow on would. Their bowlers will be hating being back out there again already.

If I were Clarkey I'd want to bowl on day 4/5 when it will be very hard to bat on so I think he did the right then, send them in in session 2 or 3 tomorrow and it gives us 4 or 5 sessions to bowl them out on a deteriorating pitch

Good point.

I just feel that with Mitch being in the form he is in, it's a perfect opportunity to assert our dominance.

England over the years were a decent squad but still vastly overrated. They took the number one spot in the absence of a truly dominant team, South Africa got the closest to achieving what Australia used to be.

Its great to see, I couldn't stand the Australian team before but England somehow got even cockier. This will shut them up.

Maybe he made the right call.

We need a decent innings from Pup and Tiny here.

What do you reckon our target will be? I'd say 250 or so.

I reckon he'd be looking at 5-300 then declare

it may be time rather then runs that will determine when we declare but middle of tomorrow I reckon depending on run rate

What this series is showing is how much England were flattered by the dust bowl pitches they served up in the last series.
