2nd Test: Australia v India at Perth Dec 14-18 2018 - AUSTRALIA WON BY 146 RUNS

If the keeper can yap all day long in the batsmans ear (and loudly at that, lot of times in another language) why cant a batsman yap to their captain?

Fair point if bowler at his mark and about to run in. But if its "banter" why pick on the batsman to be quiet?

Kholis seemed to have a problem with Paine chirping to him, or is it big bad aussie again?

Because Kohli and Pant are competitors, Paine is bringing the game into disrepute.

Duh...

Anything short of a series win for India is an abject failure. Can't turn up here with a side like theirs and get out-batted by pensioners, T20 slashers, kids and bowlers.

true, they are expecting, and expected to win this series. They didnt want to play in Brisbane, didn't want d/n in Adelaide. They were Australia best chances

watch the excuses roll around and finger pointing at everyone other than themselves if they don't win the series

BUT first things first, close out this test, and somehow hope win one more test

If they manage to drop the series, the Indians will sook about Handscomb's catch, guaranteed.

I'm not for the yapping. Its just shit.

It doesn't make the bowler bowl better or the fielders field better. It doesn't make the batsmen bat worse, not at test level.

Like huddles pre session, touching the flag when you run out and other shit, one team did it and then everyone else does it. If your team is strong you don't need a twat singing out all day.

I don't think this Australian team is capable of sledging without it backfiring spectacularly.
Finch - You'd simply suggest there's a KFC bucket with his name on it, he should go fetch it.
Harris- too green.
Khawaja - couldn't take being sledge by Khawaja seriously
S. Marsh - LOL
P Handscombe - Needs to learn how to bat first.
Head - umm yeah too easily countered, needs big runs on the board before that won't fail.
Paine - Paine is holding his ground and getting under Kholi's skin with the Ghandi routine, don't change it, it's working.
Lyon - Ok this I'll grant you. A cutting sledge by the GOAT will see team India commit suicide, and as amusing as watching the Indian team bus drive off a cliff with Kholi behind the wheel would be, might not be the best in the long term.
Haze, Starc, Hazlewood- yeah, that'd work, but might as well stick to bowling India out and tonking their bowlers.

That's it, they have Kohli and Pujara in form and a quality quick in Bumrah. They just f**ked up this test not playing a front line spinner.

Boxing day test will be awesome at 1-1.

Well, I feel like some players are susceptible to 'mental disintegration' and others aren't. If it works and you can do it in a clever way that stays within the boundaries (like Paine), go for it. If it doesn't work, you'd be wise not to do it.

The way I read it-

Kohli was trying to get under Paine's skin and Paine was standing up to him (and quite well)

Then Paine was trying to get in Murali's head.

Pretty good stuff, I reckon

Listening to a sledge from Marcus Harris would be like being sledged by a 12 year old.

Also massive lols at Indians for using the "you've been belligerent arseholes in the past so you have to wear it when Kohli does it" defence.

These are the same f**kwits who get the cats arse when you bring up Tendulkar ball tampering when they bring up sandpapergate.

Bit of crowd banter at the ground yesterday and one of the Indian blokes brought up the sandpaper incident so I shot back that his demi god Sachin himself had been pinged for ball tampering and his come back was "Yeah but he didn't use sandpaper".

That description more or less covers their top 7 - well, 1, 2, 6 and 7
