what's with the kfc ads!
theme must be "people that will never play test cricket"
I'm glad Ch9 stopped flogging betting odds on their cricket coverage, as well as not having to see that stupid twerp from Betfair, who's Betfair's equivalent of Glen Munsie from TAB (don't know what his name is, but he does sometimes appear on Sky News sports wrap up at night time). I think Michael Vaughn's words "come on now, and become a Betfair Australian" are still reverberating in my head after hearing it ad nauseum last summer. I think that dubious performance from the SCG test involving Pakistan 2 yrs ago may have definitely pricked a conscience or two.
However, I hope that laws are passed to stop constant promotion of fast food ads. Not because of exposure to children and increasing levels of obesity in the western world, but moreso because of the rampant stupidity in the ads. And it's funny that the ppl who feature in the KFC ads are the "rejects". I guess KFC won't be happy that Johnson got injured, as sponsors (just as much as the selectors) are one of the reasons why players like Brett Lee, Andrew Symonds, Matty Hayden etc. in the past got continuously picked in the side, when their performances were below standard. After all, think about it: would the sponsors be happy if they were forking out craploads of money on a player in the national side (and anticipating they will continue to be in the national side), only for them to be dumped to state cricket? You think Swiss multivitamins would be thrilled to be promoting Ponting if he got dumped and was just playing state cricket? I don't think so.
