2nd Test: Australia v New Zealand at Perth on Nov 13-17, 2015

I'm not sure going in with 4 quicks is going to help the Kiwis. The pitch is not as fast and bouncy as it used to be and with the main bowlers in Boult and Southee only bowling at low 130s, I think it will be a run fest.

I really hope these guys have a bit more up their sleeve as no one wants to see a re occurrence of the one sided first test.

One pretty innocuous incident out of 230 odd balls for Starc (possibly longer if you go back to the last time he did something like that...if ever?).

Meh

Kiwis gave up the ghost after day one of the last test, they knew it was a foregone conclusion.

I think they'll win the toss and put on a show here.

So Notch is considering retirement ?

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-11-11/i-think-about-retirement-most-days-mitchell-johnson/6932576

God I hope Pattinson is fit before he does otherwise its Bananaman to the rescue. God help us.

It's just one of those puff pieces where a journo starts asking the 'when' question, cause they've got nothing to write about and a top notch player has hit a 'certain age'. They push it and push it and push it until the player [usually looking for some peace and quiet after the dribble turns in to a drone] does retire and that journo's pleads "Oh why oh why are you retiring?"

And don't stress. We have Cummins. He'll be fit at 25...err, 27...uhm 30...no, wait...35... Now there's one f**ker who should retire.

Saw him interviewed, this could be his last test, or test series.

He seemed keen to go out on the WACA, but then again he misses out on the pink ball test if he doesn't play in Adelaide.

He has little to gain by playing a second string Windies team.

Proof that endless rehab isn't necessarily the way to go for players. The older generations used to bowl through some of the injuries Cummins has had.

He's a talented bowler and well worth persisting with. Makes you wonder what sort of diet he's on to break down so often though, it's like he's made of tissue and spit.

PERSONALLY I'd go with;
Guptill, Latham, Kane, Taylor, McCullum, Watling, Santner, Henry, Southee, Boult, Wagner.

Wagner can take up the work horse role, Henry will offer more with bat & ball by Bracewell, Santner on talent alone should offer more than Craig with the bat and could do a job with the ball from one end.

Personally would of liked to see Brownlie over there - WACA would of been a sitter for him.

That I strongly agree with - I really don't get why f**king Rutherford is anywhere near the squad - but yeah, in Australian or South African conditions Brownlie should be a no brainer - ahead of Guptill to open, or in this scenario he could easily bat 6

I mean, of his last 10 or so innings he's scored; 113, 68, 128, 58, 52, 54 & 334......

Yeah, I know, I (wrongly) stated in this forum that after the 334 he surely couldn't do any more to get back into the team... left wondering what he has to do

what the f**k are NZ playing a tour game against WA after this test match for?

Planning for this tour has been mediocre.

It's a d/n tour game so I assume that it's to ready them for the d/n test.

I would have thought a game in Adelaide would have been better though. Not really complaining as it wil give me some extra Cricket to go to next weekend.

Not related to this test but the West Indies are going to bring their 2nd stringers here after Gayle and Bravo pulled out of the series for the Big Bash. This could be a pretty uncompetitive summer of test cricket.

haha what exactly does Chris Gayle do these days?

Has he formally retired from tests yet?

Not that I don't wish I had his life

Dwayne Bravo hasn't played a test in 5 years.

Gayle is unlikely to play one again, back is shot (apparently).

No particular shocks with that squad.
