I wouldn’t be too harsh as it’s very hard to win in Australia. Sides really need to be on top of their game and then some to win here. NZ have deserved their ranking to this point. You blokes won on the sub continent, beat England and numerous others at home. It’s not all doom and gloom.

No, it's not. I still think this NZ is a very well-performing NZ side. I just think we aren't quite top tier (along with India and Australia) at this point.

All of the bluster about rankings aside, we knew that this series was going to be very revealing. Australia are the yardstick- at least to us. A few players, weaknesses and tactics have been exposed and we've been shown (so far) up for what we are- admiral battlers that don't quite have that killer instinct that you need to really be at the top of the Test match game. Hopefully, this series does us a lot of good. Hopefully this is the end of Raval and Santner and hopefully we all calm the hell down about Ferguson as a prospect.

Nicholls and Latham under a bit of pressure too, IMO

dude... it’s been 1 test and 1 day...

the first test it can be argued we lost a crucial toss which meant we were in a tough position with the heat and as also going down a bowler.

as great as Aussie have been... they were a little fortunate how it all played out in Perth.

I want to see Australia’s attack against our Batsmen here... if they roll is again then fair enough... but I could easily see us post 500 on this wicket

You reckon this wicket is thateasy to bat on? Against Starc, Cummins and Pattinson?

It's not a demon but it's also not the MCG road of the last few years

Tim Paine to score his first test ton, you heard it here first.

And I will fly to the Chardies and tea bag you so hard your nose bleeds....let's go Painey!

Just quietly, I reckon he might run out of partners if he does hang in that long.

I think it will flatten out as the test goes on...

and I think our batsman have played on tougher decks in NZ.

the Aussie attack is good... but I think we have a decent line up ourselves if we can start well...

Smiffy will be filthy he hasnt converted four or five 50+ scores in a row into centuries. Was really hoping he'd get his welcome home ton today after his insane suspension.
Solid fifty to Paine, very useful runs
