Cut to the comm box camera and apparently catch Ian Smith eyeing off a particularly juicy looking suckling pig

The Sun should be investigating Williamson for match fixing.

As soon as he won the toss and decided to bowl (at the MCG no less) he effectively threw the game away.

Dorky decision, show some confidence in your batters

I disagree... I think it was the right decision to bowl first.

that was the best time in the entire test to bowl. and with the overhead it was going to suit our attack.

If we couldn’t bowl them out in those conditions how in the bloody hell were we hoping to bowl them out on day 2 or day 3 when the wicket has flattened out and the forecast is for scorching weather?

Lol that looked funny given the delivery but I like the idea. Get Wagner off his length if you can

Scoreboard pressure. Bat first and back yourself to rack up 400+. Bowling first on a road is just stupid.

Because you don't go into a 5 day test match with plan A being were going to bowl them out in the first session. Reason being because when that plan invariably fails you're stuck where you are now. And on top of that NZ are effectively playing with 2 and a half bowlers in southee, Wagner and a half fit boult.

He should have shown some confidence in his batters to put some runs on the board and try and defend it.

Either way it's fish and chip paper now, it's happened. Was just my opinion that's all.

483 average on the deck batting first last few years - different deck to the Shield match

Negotiate the first hour and you bat 2 days, You have 3 guys there than can do that

But we are happy you bowled first, very happy. Don't let Paine fool you lot when he said he didnt know what to do. He just wants you guys to send us in at the SCG if the deck is a little green day 1, and Kane win the toss and does a Ricky Edgbasten "We will have a bowl thanks" :D

Scoreboard pressure ain’t going to do jack if you don’t have the cattle.

we don’t have a spinner capable enough to do that.

Effectively we’re just playing for a draw...

if we were going to win this test we needed to make use of the conditions and get into them early.
