I dont disagree with the fact that the frontline spinner should have been bowling.

Obviously Captain and Selectors are not of the same opinion in regards to Lyon's effectiveness at the moment.

It's not about being the frontline spinner, the mindset that enters the batsmen when a bloke bowling who never comes on to bowl is "how far can I hit this", it's a tactic used often before a break or a new ball to try and get a cheap wicket

It usually works on a batsman with an inflated ego.. "how dare he bowl to me, i'll show him", I don't think either of these 2 batsmen have an inflated ego but it was worth a crack

Firstly, Lyon has shown he is incapable of taking wickets, why should his captain throw him the ball by default?

Secondly, the Pakis had a bloke in the nineties. Against a frontline bowler (or a pretend one in Lyons case) he will knuckle right down. Part timers might draw a mistake or a false shot from a batsman who sees it as an opportunity to get his hundred easily.

If anything Smith doesn't use his part timers enough, you clot.
