SIDDLE YOU SUPERSTAR. Bogan swagger!

Cummins and Pattinson haven't done too much bowling either, Patto played 3 shield games and one and a half tests and gone, these blokes are made of cotton wool :D

Bruce Reid was a stick so he had an excuse when he snapped, but these days I'm not sure what the go is.
Bruce Reid made his Test debut at 22. Mcgrath at 23.

Teen bodies aren't mature enough to handle extended periods of bowling that Test cricket requires.

We're in trouble if we don't make a breakthrough today. We'll need 6 wickets tomorrow and looks like there'll be some rain. Need at least 2 more today.

Good spell today, hopefully the clouds come in tomorrow...and someone tell Hilfenhaus bowling 130km pies won't get wickets...bowl 140 or GTFO!

This game is not over by a long shot

In fact SA can bat out all day tomorrow if we are not carefull

Our only hope is to get out the great Kallis. Get him out cheaply we win

Poor stuff from the Saffas this arvo. They have given up winning. I think they did after SMith got out.

it's a shame this match was a case of who ever won the toss wins the game, of is the only side with a shot. Crap wicket

Say what! Not the wickets fault that FAF and Tanvir were bowling pies. There was ENOUGH in the wicket if you bent your back, even on the first day. SA could EASILY have restricted us to 400...but they bowled pies, Steyn included!

Its pretty obvious what the strategy is from now on

^This is the aspect Americans or even people with A.D.D dont get about cricket

When you cant win, you stop the other team beating you.

In American sports its ALL about the winner, test cricket is about the mythology of fighting!

In a T20 match A.b de Villiers would have smoked boundaries to all corners of the ground with his array of reverse sweeps and 'trick' shots. But now hes blocking out half volleys

South Africa is blocking out until the new ball. Thats the plan. Australia have three frontline bowlers and three tight backups (Quiney, Hussey and Clarke) ts as simple as that

Got him!!

I guess Amla was in fact feeling the pressure that "mere mortals" would have been feeling by missing all those boundaries :sarcasm:

Cannot stand the constant sucking up Amla's ass by the commentary team whenever he is batting. The bloke doesnt even average 50 FFS and they talk about him like he's the best batsman in the world
Well, he's at 49.66 after that test so close enough. He also started pretty slowly not doing great over his first few years in test cricket, he's averaged 55 since 2007 and averaged 66 this year.

He's a bloody good batsmen and a big wicket to get out.
Our bowlers these days are all piss weak, fkn injured every year, never seen the old blokes injured this much, McGrath and co....

Fk we are only one more injury away from fkwit Johnson getting a free ride back in the team, when he comes back I'll be giving it away.

Starc and Hazlewood should be next in line for a call up.
Err, McGrath didnt debut till 23/24, huge difference at that age.

Mind you, McGrath knew how to prepare for test cricket pretty well - do your strength work (principally core type stuff) in the pre season because you cant catch up during the season. Oh and one of the most economical actions you will see.

Hazlewood is a potentially awesome bowler but he is 2-3 years off. Averaging 45 at the moment with the ball, despite probably bowling the best of the blues bowlers he needs to take some wickets

Poor stuff from the Saffas this arvo. They have given up winning. I think they did after SMith got out.
Not a chance of winning, doing well so far

Its kind of reminiscent of the Indian series a year ago. The South Africans have just turned up to Australia arrogant and have been exposed as being pretty gutless. Beating Australia at home is always a big ask.
