hard to understand the attitude of the saffas for mine

no attempt to take control of the game or at least rotate the strike, just play dot balls, it wasn't Warne and McGrath bowling it was Quiney and Warner and they made no attempt to take control

it was like we were bowling hand grinades

SA still a chnace of a draw here, would love a couple of wickets before lunch

^ Ah... the draw in cricket

People (Americans) whinge why play a sport for 5 days and get no winner. But that's the difference between English and American sport

English sports = Soccer getting thumped by Man Utd 5 zip, come back to draw 5 all at Old Trafford - almost as big as beating Man Utd, Man Utd stuffed up for failing to take the points

League = cant win the game on the scoreboard, have a fight! win the fight

Americans sports = Down by 30 in a game of Basketball - force overtime, still lose, WINNER TAKES ALL! WOO WOO WOO!!!!!

snooze fest this

The best thing about a game of cricket

How a team can score 5 runs an over for 110 overs

And then the other team is fighting to the death 4 days later to PREVENT the other team beating them

Other uncertainties about a game of test cricket, you dont have to play at every ball - leaving a ball, not scoring off every ball. We're not dealing with run rate, no 4s and 6s here. Just epic battle

If thats something you dont get, go watch T20

Bring Hilfy on, Siddle is ordinary

Youre only as good as the conditions and opposition let you

*arrogant comment* The Sri Lankan test team wouldnt even be fighting against us at this stage of a test match (day 5, 42 minutes in), they would have already laid down and died already

21 dot balls.. decent pressure here

^ That would mean something if the game plan was not: "You shall not pass!"

Even though Pattinson is not an option, there is Clarke, Quiney, Warner, and Hussey to back up Siddle, Lyon and Hilfenhaus

Ponting has also had a bowl too

What would happen if Imran Tahir was bowling for Australia :p

 Fair point. That can be a very dangerous way to approach things though, still a looooong time for SA to bat

Effective though. We need to make the play at this point.

Would not trust any of our players to do a similar job.

Would anyone trust DeVilliers before he came out?

out of form with the bat, and been wicketkeeping in the heat for a few days
