Warne is so f**king dumb, just because he's a similar pace to Philander doesn't mean Hazelwood should excel in the same conditions, they are very different

Could equally ask why were you so ordinary in India Shane? The Indian spinners were threatening

I'm going to sound like ian Chappell here but the coach's role in cricket is about improving fielding, identifying batsmen and bowlers deficiencies (both your own and the oppositions) and assisting the captain in tactics.

It's not about selecting the team, deciding what to do at the toss, giving players a gobful in the dressing room or fronting the media after a win.

That's the captains job.
Coherent post with very little rambling. Dont see the link to Chapple

Are you watching how they're batting at the moment, champion?

Strap yourself in and pay attention, you might learn a thing or two about cricket.
No, no, you're right. I realise that by saying things in this thread like Warner's shot wasn't good enough, we lack guts and starch, we played poorly, and we batted badly I wasn't quite clear enough in my indictment for those with a double digit IQ and I sincerely apologise. This whole thing could have been avoided if I'd just "herp derp CA money hungry" and blamed T20 cricket a few times.

Ahh, sarcasm. The recourse of a weak, shallow mind, and the lowest form of wit.

Batsmen set the tone

Here we go Warne banging on about Hazelwood...
Warne really dislikes him, he's the only bowler who has bowled consistent lines and has kept it tight.

At the end of the day the bowlers should still be having their feet up watching their batsmen battle it out.

Nobody is only blaming that but there has been a failure by cricket australia. not just from t20 but the cupboard has never been more bare for batsmen

Sure the failures rest on the individual players but how much has cricket australia lost the plot with our batting depth. they just expected it to continue forever

Didn't say they were, just that it seems to be the catch cry that many people on here use. Also apparently you need to be borderline hysterical. Just saying we were bad isn't enough it seems.

I've had many in depth discussions on here with people with an idea about what's wrong with Australia, I just don't see the point with abjectly negative mongs like RP and El Derpo.

Shows the quality of batsmen around the country if he was the leading wicket taker last year.

Wait I'm gonna change my position, don't wanna upset poor Bazal - in fact I'll honour him by being sarcastic.

Joe Mennie's not the problem, Cook, Elgar, and South Africa are just really really really good and batting exceptionally and CA are not to blame for any of this, South Africa would be just as comprehensively beating any team ever assembled playing the way they are now.

The first thing CA should do is the Sheffield Shield should become a priority again, it's been stuck on the back burner for the last decade which has been to the detriment of cricket in this country. It was the best finishing school in the world but not anymore.
