In terms of whether it was good bowling or bad batting Warner played a bad shot and Khawaja just played down the wrong line to what was an OK ball and Ferguson got run out. Thats three of the top 6 just below standard for Test cricket.

What part of "we didn't play well" is difficult for you to understand? I actually understand that South Africa deserve all the credit for how they played, which was brilliant, instead of moping around about how it was all a product of CA and their commercial interest and T20 and modern batting and that's the reason we got rolled. That doesn't mean I'm defending the way we played, you complete and utter hazelnut.

Yes, actually it does.

"We didn't play well" - understatement of the f**king century right there.

Loads and loads of teams bowl and field just as well as that. Doesn't mean you get rolled for eighty f**king five before tea, at home, 1-0 down, again without their best bowler, you apologetic peanut.

Let's have a look at the Australian batting.
Warner: never scores meaningful runs on a pitch that does anything so no surprise out cheaply here.
Burns: not an opener and got a beauty
Kwajaha: squared up again, has a technical deficiency where he doesn't get forward or back and leads with his arms.
Smith: played every ball on its merits and so was 48no at the end
Voges: got a good un but is not a test player. All his runs against the west Indies on roads
Ferguson: can't judge his batting but for stupidity gets 9/10
Neville: timid but once again gets handed a shit sandwich from the top order

Remember when Warner scored that great century on a green Hobart wicket against NZ

Now he just cant be arsed

Right. So recognising a good performance from someone other than Australia isn't on. Got it. I forgot we're the best side in the world every day and only our own mistakes contribute to our losses. My apologies.

Blah blah blah CA stooges blah blah modern batsmen blah blah T20 dollars. Is that better?

That was the dismissal you'd be really angry about as a captain. Just an absolute nothing shot.

I'd get Mennie on instead of Starc here, he's not going to get as much out of this wicket

Poor Bazal.

Guy's been beaten down so much that he thinks if the opposition team bowl real well, getting all out before tea for 85 on the first day is in some sick way acceptable when Australia play test match cricket at home.

Sad indictment of first class in this country.

Mate south africa did bowl well but we should aspire to be better than this turd

Its garbage from the top down. i reckon chadd sayers would be a handful on this wicket for example but the selectors have a "type"

The other thing I wonder, and I say it as a big Smith fan, is whether he has the personality to be a good captain. Tactically, he's fine, but it just seems to me that the side has no fear of failure. That goes equally for Lehmann tbh.

Blokes used to be terrified of AB, Tugga and even Tubby if they didn't give it their all at least. They'd have extra sessions, they'd get ripped apart in the sheds....they had a healthy respect for and fear of their skipper. I just don't see that in this side.

Hes only in his mid 20s in fairness.

He should be putting his foot up the arse of a few blokes for sure though
