For the ashes I would like our three main pace men to be Pat,JR and James Pattinson if fit.Josh Haze has only been a shandy better than Starc recently, and we all know how ordinary Mitch is travelling atm.

so Foxsports just said Hohns added Stoinis as a bowling option

that will do me,

seriously, this guy has no f**king idea, obviously being judged on his BBL form

SL had the best of the batting conditions facing just 6 overs under lights, and they managed to last 106 overs all up, so just 3.5 sessions. Bowling doesn't exactly seem to be a problem for us against SL.

Isn't that what Lab is there for anyway? To give the quicks a rest if a team does bat long? He's not going to be dropped for the Canberra game after making 81, so I don't see that we need Stoinis.

I think if Stoinis comes in it will be for Patterson.

Yup, that's the way I read it

Stoinis aint been chosen in the squad to carry the drinks, the Stars would have a fit

To be fair, Stoinis temperament in both BBL and the ODI v india has been very good, no stupid or rash shots and he has been able to bat longer than most and score runs, then again so too (dare I say) Shaun Marsh

From reports Manuka Oval will be a road, so the top 5 bats should do well regardless who is at 6

Pattinson wont be match fit

They interviewed him couple of Heat matches ago. Said he was targeting the ashes.
Said looking forward to playing at the back end of the Shield tournament

Time may be against him, but if he makes it back to his best, id welcome him with open arms

ahh yes but SL play spin very well,

They wont know what hit them when Stoinis runs in with his mop Stooges haircut, will turn off any batsman...

Stoinis is actually from WA

But we don’t need him for this test. This obsession with all rounders got Henriques, Hastings and Labushange baggy greens

Based on the following it looks like Pucovski will miss out for the Second Test.

But Langer said Australia’s selectors hadn’t gone cold on the prodigious talent, who has scored 588 runs at an average of 49 from eight first-class matches, with two centuries and a highest score of 243.

“I love the way he plays,” Langer said.

“He’s a really good-looking player. He’s a great catch. He’s a brilliant young kid. You can tell he wants to learn.

“It’s all about timing isn’t it, playing Test cricket. There’s only 11 guys you can pick. He’s got a huge upside, huge potential and hopefully when the timing comes he’ll be ready to grab that opportunity.”

In fact, Langer said his best opportunity will come in the mid-year Australia A tour of England as a virtual last-minute trial for Test spots for this winter’s Ashes series.

Mate just turn up on day 3 and watch us lift up the Warne-Murali trophy like we just won the ashes in September
