2ND TEST: Australia v West Indies Adelaide Oval Dec 4 - Dec 8 2009

Australia hope, rather than expect, Peter Siddle to bowl again in the second Test against West Indies in Adelaide with the paceman nursing an injured hamstring.
Siddle didn't take the field with his teammates for the start of the Windies' second innings late on the third day at Adelaide Oval.

An Australia spokesman said Siddle had been rested to give him more time to overcome tightness in his left hamstring, and would try and bowl on Monday.

Australia veteran Mike Hussey said he was hopeful the big-hearted Victoria seamer would prove his fitness.

"He's got a bit of tightness in one of his hamstrings," Hussey said.

"But I think it was just more precautionary, leave him out of it tonight so his leg has got another 12 hours or so to give it a good go tomorrow.

"I'm pretty confident that he'll be out there tomorrow for us."

Australia enter the fourth day trailing by 35 runs and with 10 West Indies wickets to capture.

"Tomorrow is going to be a huge day for us really," Hussey said.

"I think we're going to have to bowl with a lot of patience, a lot of discipline, it's not the sort of pitch where you can just blast people out.

"Hopefully we can get a couple of wickets and get a bit of a roll-on, which has had success for us in the past coming into the second innings of the Adelaide Test."

Great, just when you think things couldn't get worse this happens.

A less than 100% Siddle doesn't boded well ... an improbable Windies Test win on Australian soil? *shock horror*. Today is massive day for both sides.

Husseys go slow yesterday really stalled our momentum, Clarke really should be batting at
4. Windies really are in the box seat to win from here if they
do is another matter.

Siddle just proves again that he isn't yet up to the rigours of playing two matches in succession. Not enough first class cricket.

Lets see what Hauritz can do now, Benn was working on a day 3 pitch whereas Hauritz was on a day 1/2 pitch.

That looked good live and there seem to be a slight deviation but I got a feeling it won't be given.

there is no way Hauritz's hand touched that, but I was uncertain about the boot too, I did not think that was conclusive at all

WTF is Bill Lawry on criticising Barath for not getting back in his crease. It's just an unfortunate way of getting out.

Honestly if Hauritz didn't touch the ball then he is the biggest scum on the planet and should never play another test for Australia ...

How the hell was the third umpire able to give that out? If the on field umpire knew then that's fair enough for him to give it, but it should not have been given on that video evidence. Awful call.

the way he appealled for it really suggests that, but maybe he was certain it touched his foot, because he definitely did not get a finger to it

Whether he touched it or not, it's one of my most hated rules in cricket.

Every ball is a contest of skill between bat and ball, and more often than not those run outs come off a bad ball that has been smacked. Pure dumb luck.

Hate the rule.
