Yes I think so. Both Boult and Wagner in particular are in very poor form. Boult bowled ok to Gunathilaka but that lad simply refuses to stay square on so he’s an absolute bunny in these conditions.

Not sure we are good enough to carry two out of form bowlers and I know which one I'm inclined to carry.

What an absolutely appalling stroke from Mendis. Not sure he’s that flash when he’s not on a Basin featherbed. Horrible stroke.

I’m surprised Trent Boult didn’t continue. Silva has shown himself to be an absolutely compulsive cover driver. Keep throwing them out there and he will edge one.

Tim Southee's day, but not New Zealand's day. Sri Lanka's day. Lakmal's day- that's his career best innings bowling.

Nevertheless, the game is certainly not out of New Zealand's reach. A couple of wickets in the first session tomorrow, and Matthew's most importantly, and New Zealand might be back on a more even footing pretty quickly.

Boult gets reward for bowling well this morning. He gets Silva, caught by Southee at 3rd slip. Big wicket

94/5

And now Boult nabs Dickwella. Southee takes another ripper- one handed, at slip. 100/5

NZ are back in it

In this series, Boult has been bowling well enough for no reward. Good to see him getting the reward. I guess the think is that he is a strike bowler, so he needs to strike.

100/7
