less than a month ago and you've forgotten already ?

memory of convenience huh ?

No, a memory of convenience would be suggesting that the match and teh series NZ was "rolled" 2-0 after the series finale at Adelaide swiftly implying a thrashing when even the Australian media humoured that the three wicket victory's man of the match should have been Nigel Llong for his match and series defining howler of a decision.

But the moment of 2015 was Australia's 18.3 over innings. Summed up everything JJ was eluding to about Australian batsman and the ball moving and you well know it.

The minnow basher gets a life.

He slog a ton now.

Mythcullum goes again.

I have no issue with you calling him "Mythcullum" about his batting history with the tripple, the three doubles and the 195, of which all but one innings occurred in 2014, but India (tripple and 2 doubles), Pakistan (double) and Sri Lanka (195) are not minnows.

Many NZ cricket fans think he is a myth presumably for the same reasons you do but he successfully bashed Asian attacks to create the myth in their view. That makes him an "Asian basher". But India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are not minnows.

lol aren't the kiwis meant to be unstoppable beasts on green pitches?

I think this is a good wicket. It might look green, but it's flat and easy paced, with a little bit of turn. I think Josh Hazlewood will enjoy these wickets. He's a touch quicker than Boult or Southee IMO.

Lol Australia what a waste of time they'll be in February. Sri Lanka showing their class here. Well on top atm.

Yeah, but maybe the Australian top 6 are watching and learning?

Lot of short stuff here - from both attacks, weird

FFS - Wagner is a full on genius - whole field set for the hook, and he keeps hooking

His speed is not a concern. Hazelwood is tall and can get bounce off a length. He gets nibble but he's not a big swinger. His control of placement and steeper (especially if variable) bounce with a little nibble are the keys to his success.

Pattinson's ability to get movement concerns me more. I think on his day he can run through any team, he is that good. He gets nibble and hooping swing at real heat and is just at the batsman outside off stump all the time (unless he goes short to the body where his accuracy is outstanding). He can be relentless - trained on unresponsive Australian road pitches. He's all class and aggression. His bowling average would be lower with a permanent third man in my view. Even if Starc was fit, Pattinson is their premier bowler in my opinion. Starc has his yorker, but he gives runs away when he is way wide outside off, and seems to be more effective attacking the stumps than getting nicks and catches. For a tall guy, Starc does not have bounce as a weapon. That is very unusual.

Pattinson wants to dominate the batsman and get the batsman out. And invariably he does.

Boult can be still be deadly at 130kph as he is at 140kph long as he can shape on the delivery. I reckon when its swing big, he could bowl to left handers at 120 and still have them nick off. Southee looks far more dangerous when he's getting closer to 140 than 130 and brings the cross seam ball into the mix with outswing stock ball.

Even money that Pattinson breaks down before the end of the summer...

Shame though, he's a terrific bowler

Sad but relatively true.

For me, he's displayed that Shane Bond streak by reverting back to his original action. He knows it will injure him, but if he's playing, he wants wickets. Nothing else matters. Fierce competitor.

How about that field though? Silly Square leg, Square leg, and deep square leg (all three basically in a line) to go with the 2 fine legs.

Angelo Jardine instructed his Sri Indies bowlers to unleash. It was good entertainment watching the contest.

Southee just had to back himself to clear the field. That ball that got him was way wide of off stump and he hooks it?

If we were Australians, we'd cry and say that's just not cricket, and call it 'bodyline'

lol you call it what you like but to crumble like that at home to SL pacers suggests it's a definite weakness.

Nigel Llong and the fearful pace of Angelo Matthews put them off.

They will be right the second dig, their batsman are fantastic on green wickets.

Oh were sri lanka putting a bunch of players behind square on the legside ?

Do you even know what bodyline is and why its considered unfair ?

1. As many as the rules permit

2. When Jardine did it it wasn't against the rules - bit like the underarm I guess... it's called leg theory, within the rules at the time, your lot just whined - bloody sooks
