I think this is a good wicket. It might look green, but it's flat and easy paced, with a little bit of turn. I think Josh Hazlewood will enjoy these wickets. He's a touch quicker than Boult or Southee IMO.
His speed is not a concern. Hazelwood is tall and can get bounce off a length. He gets nibble but he's not a big swinger. His control of placement and steeper (especially if variable) bounce with a little nibble are the keys to his success.
Pattinson's ability to get movement concerns me more. I think on his day he can run through any team, he is that good. He gets nibble and hooping swing at real heat and is just at the batsman outside off stump all the time (unless he goes short to the body where his accuracy is outstanding). He can be relentless - trained on unresponsive Australian road pitches. He's all class and aggression. His bowling average would be lower with a permanent third man in my view. Even if Starc was fit, Pattinson is their premier bowler in my opinion. Starc has his yorker, but he gives runs away when he is way wide outside off, and seems to be more effective attacking the stumps than getting nicks and catches. For a tall guy, Starc does not have bounce as a weapon. That is very unusual.
Pattinson wants to dominate the batsman and get the batsman out. And invariably he does.
Boult can be still be deadly at 130kph as he is at 140kph long as he can shape on the delivery. I reckon when its swing big, he could bowl to left handers at 120 and still have them nick off. Southee looks far more dangerous when he's getting closer to 140 than 130 and brings the cross seam ball into the mix with outswing stock ball.
