Usual Durban condition..there are always cracks in Durban. It will seam and bounce all game and will be a bit uneven on days 4/5 as per usual. It is a bat first pitch

Yep, exactly like a normal Durban pitch. IMO the 3rd test will suit the spinners and we'll be mad not to play one there, but spinners were a longshot to play in the first 2 tests. It was a huge surprise they took 2 spinners in a 15 man squad.

Durban will suit Johnson, Siddle and Hilffy very much. Swing, seam and bounce will trouble the batsmen. Ntini, Styne and Morkle will also love the conditions thou, so our batsmen will have their work cut out for them.

McDonald will probably be very difficult to play on days 4-5 with the variable
bounce.
I would disagree with you locky and actually bowl first, try to get them out cheaply, and then put on a big score.

Does the fact theyve tossed at 6.35 suggest it will start at 7ish or earlier? I knwo they toss early but its not usually an hour before hand right?

They were just saying how dry the pitch looked, and how we might regret not going in with the spinner. Good to see we chose our team on what has happened before not what the pitch looks like this time :? At least we are batting first......

I said it after the last test we should never go into a test without a spinner as the pitch will always dry out as the days go on unless it is overcast everyday which doesn't look to be the case here.
