Now Hazlewood strikes! Two new batsmen at the crease. Game on!
Saffas only have themselves to blame. 43 runs in a session is not good enough, especially if it is not like the pitch is unplayable.

They have played into our hands.

The reason the Saffas are going to struggle to beat us this series is their negativity.

Aussies love playing against negative batsmen as they know they will not hurt you.

The only times the aussies got worried in the first test was De Villiers in 1st innings and Markram and De Kock partnership in 2nd innings.

That partnership between Elgar and Amla would have almost pleased the Aussies.

Now de Villiers and du Plessis are playing a bit more positive, we may be starting to get a bit more worried.

However, if we keep them to less than 50 lead, we are prob on top.

There has been talk that de Villiers may retire at the end of this series.

If true, that would massively weaken their batting. Their 1 true class batsman.

If anything, Amla should go first.

I hope not.

He is pure class, on and off the field, a d I'd love to see him play more.

Amla is also class, but he's been struggling for some time now - perhaps it's time he stepped away...

I think AB will retire from tests, this article suggests he wanted to in 2016
Matter of time and the time is this series will be his last id say
Will focus on the 2019 world cup and retire from that format as well??

https://www.sportskeeda.com/cricket/ab-de-villiers-set-retire-test-cricket

He will play on in t20 comps cause the money is there in a short period of time- good luck to him.

Shame he could play test cricket for another couple of years easily
might make an appearance in the Shame thread, ill run it by Bazal ;)
