Looks a good pitch to me. Has a bit early, but it's going to be good to bat on this afternoon. Looks like it could break up day 4 and 5 though. Proper test match pitch.

Geez that catch by Watson would have been handy ... 5fa with Sanga out would have been very juicy.

Tea?

I was so excited before Galle because for the first time in a long time we were fielding a proper test cricket attack. They haven't put a foot wrong since. Love the discipline (even Johnson has been mildly consistent) that is just giving the Lankans nothing to allow them to get on top. They've been rubbish and even NZ, let alone SA and India are likely to give their wickets away so easily this summer, but our bowlers look like they have the ability to hang in and wait for the openings to come.

Johnson is really bowling some rubbish, definitely becoming the weakest link in the attack...if he wasn't already. At least you used to get a few wickets amongst the dreck.

We need one more and we're into the tail.

Hughes and Watson would be licking their lips thinking about later this afternoon on this wicket.

This is not a criticizm of Lyon, as he's bowling quite well. But I fail to see what he offers that Hauritz doesn't - and Hauritz is a better bat. Whilst Hauritz is injured fair enough but if this is the kind of bowler they want in the side, Hauritz should be the front liner.

The attack is looking good with the new blood..

Johnson is his usual enigma self..He will probably get one of these last 3 wickets with a rubbish delivery..

The seam position on the ball he got Mathews with was disgraceful.

Switch him for Doug the Rug and you're looking at our best pace attack.
