and yet still a shithouse delivery. Does he hypnotise batsmen to get them to chase utter rubbish?

He must leave the watch a home come Ashes time..

The Poms left those pies outside off all series..

Without the Doctor he had nothin'..

It got him out; what more do you want? I thought Johnson bowled alright. He didn't have the luxury of bowling with the new ball when the pitch was seaming early, plus he should have had Sangakkara. Keep hating.

Yes he should have got Sanga. That and the ball to Welegedera were quite good, and in fact I earlier complimented him on being reasonably tight. Doesn't change the fact he is far too often absolute and utter rubbish and he is famous for getting wickets with absolute crud wide of off stump. I will keep hating on him until he gets the really appalling shit out of his game or he gets dropped for a better bowler. He won't have the luxury of being favourably compared to Siddle and Hilf any longer so one of those options is going to happen in the not too distant.

Now that Watson and Hughes have got their eye in, hopefully they can bat on and decide the game before our first wicket falls.

Johnson without the luxury of the new ball  He can't bowl seam up ffs Johnson opening the bowling is a waste

Seriously the dude thinks Warner can't play tests because of how he's performed in one dayers and it's some sort of conspiracy that Johnson doesn't get the new ball. FFS.

Enjoy the the BBL Gidley, leave the cricket to those who can appreciate it.

faaark, there's no player I'd rather watch than Hughes when he's hitting them cleanly like that....the kid could be anything, he's got the ability to play 100+ tests, score 10,000 runs and captain the country. But everytime he's looked like getting a big one (since THAT test in africa) somethings gone wrong, whether it be Watson's shit running between wickets, bad call from the umpire, shit hawkeye technology etc. Hopefully this time he capitalises on his start.

A B+ to the tail cleaner.

Good start by the openers, been awhile since we have been able to watch our bowlers bowling disciplined and our batsmen making the pitch look like a road.

Watson came on after 10 overs instead of Johnson, that's telling and hopefully Pup's reign won't see Johnson automatic in anything.

If Johnson wasn't a left armer he would've been gone after his mum blew up at him,and he lost the plot in England..

Are you serious? Where did I say Johnson should be opening the bowling? I said he bowled alright considering when he was brought into the attack the conditions were much less favourable. F**king dunce.

It's eluding to a wish for him to open if not an outright statement. He bowled alright for the first or second change bowler that he is. It's a bit like saying Lyon didn't have the luxury of bowling with the new ball. Neither of them are any use with it - that's why they bowl with the ball after the shine is off it. But anyway thanks for the gibber - it's always nice to have some comic relief.

Dominant day from the Aussies. Sri Lanka have massive problems. We certainly have our own issues, but at least we look like we're on the right road to addressing them.

Clarke looks like a "bowlers captain" to my eye..

I had my doubts about him being captain, but he hasn't put a foot wrong so far..And has scored important runs to boot (That 60 on that Galle shocker was worth a ton on anything decent)..

I love his field placements..It's nice to see an Australian slips cordon again..
