Yeah I get the thinking behind that, but who’s to say that the couchmans or Egan can have a bigger impact against first graders without trialling others?I know where you are coming from HH
If we take the edge bakrowers for example and the 160mins only available this weekend
If RFM is injury free this weekend we need to get some serious game time (preferably 40mins).
We have Sua and Eisenhuth who need closer to 60mins each for this last trial before NRL round 1.
R Couchman who is a head of the young brigade (albeit he is pretty much same age / just turned 20yrs old) (20mins)
Egan is ahead of the other young backrowers so far (20mins)
Im not sure it helps our cause to be ready for round 1 as best as we can ie we cant take minutes away from the above players?
Nick T is injured and has not trained this year, did you not notice he wasn't named in any team list last weekIn the 2nd trial I’d love to see how a few of the cup guys in specialised positions go against a few of the tigers 1st graders. Like rumble in fullback and Nick T having a crack in the edge. Nick T was a beast when he got the call up for cup last year
Be similar to the ol inside outside centreNot sure when Lomax's back spasms started in the first trial, but early on in the game he came off his wing into the middle of the field to set up a shift to the left. He was also supporting each ball runner throughout that set before making his pass to the left. He didn't come in and do that again at all during the game, so maybe the back issue began early on.
If he starts on the wing again which I assume he will I'd like to see him come in field more often and see how that works before he moves to fullback in the second quarter/half. Based off only that one set, he seems to have his support play miles ahead of Sloan at the moment. There's a possibility we end up with essentially two fullbacks on the field during some sets, which I think will be really interesting to see how it works.
I think that Lomax could have pulled something in his back when he leapt to catch a few of the bombs that were put up in our attacking moves earlyish in the game. He was going for them and in doing so may have stretched a bit to hard. My guess only Parko.Not sure when Lomax's back spasms started in the first trial, but early on in the game he came off his wing into the middle of the field to set up a shift to the left. What about Tamale stood out to you?I reckon Flanno will want to make it more of a game this week against Wests. I'm pretty sure RFM is unavailable.
He's highly likely to start the same 13 and give them more time on the field ;
1. Sloan 2. Lomax 3. Suli 4. Bird 5. Rav 6. Kyle 7. Hunt
8. Frankie 9. Liddle 10. Blocker 11. the Hoof 12. Su'a 13. JDB.
with maybe a bench of ;
14. Marschke
15. Sele
16. T.Coachman - can play prop or 2nd row
17. Fifita - he'll want more game time and hopefully in the first half against men. (Round 1 17. RFM, Fifita to extra 18).
18. Tamale - personal choice, I want him in 1st grade asap, was a standout for me in CS.
19. BMM
20. Egan
21. Tuipulotu
22. Tuitavake / Finau ?
Flanno might feel he needs Mulheisen on the bench but if I'm coach and feel Liddle needs a rest I'm switching Kyle to Hooker and sending on Marschke to 5/8.
Saints 11+
Mudgee is virtually a home ground for us against interlopers Wests.
Is that for me? There were positives absolutely as I have mentioned before, but to take a more glass-half-empty (and apologies for a darker perspective), but this is also how I see it:Was it us throwing out a bunch of kids with no business playing 1sts against the likes of Keppie/moala that led you to that conclusion.
I get the imprsssion that flano wanted to see if our starting pack and nrl bench were up to it and they are.
