One of their ads this afternoon, I think it was Gary whats his face who I think comes on after the legendary king of night time radio Graeme "Mr 0.1%" Gilbert, honestly the host was accusing the caller of accidentally clicking on something on the internet - it was like he was giving tech advice. The way they cut their promo ads together is a joke. The only one they ever spend time on is Lawsy's. Only because Norman takes him balls deep sparodically.

What to do - could switch to 2GB and listen to right wing conservatives doing Singo proud?

I don't listen much at night, but I'd describe Graeme Gilbert as the ultimate plodder's man. He once ran for a Liberal safe seat and got belted. His career highlight is being pranked by about 60 calls in one night "INDIAAA!", and achieving the lowest recorded radio rating in Sydney history (conveniently, 2SM then decided not to continue to be a part of the ratings process).

Graeme Gilbert is a combination of Ben Czislowski, Kane Cleal, Brady Malam, and Shane Perry. You know what you're going to get week in week out, so thats a positive. The downside is its going to consist of being belted backwards, playing 19th fiddle to others, and genuinely being shocked, humbled, and delighted that the gravy train for some god unknown reason or another continues on unabated.

As much as John Laws is an old senile coot, his "sub" Leon Delaney is opinion-less and weak as water. Good talk back radio involves a bit of arguing and thrasing out a topic. There's safe announcers like Gilbert, Delaney, Bultitude, they just don't have the nads to take anyone on.

I may have mentioned before on this forum that I'd like to see that Adrian bloke given a go at talk back but he would need to be teamed up with someone with a bit of experience. He is so obnoxious and disliked by so many people that initially lots of people would ring in to argue and abuse him. He may be a shooting star but he has some of the qualities, a bit like Stan Zemanek. He couldn't do any worse than the crew over at 'The Power Station' or those knobs on 2UE George Moore and that non-entity Paul what's his name.

Gilbert is radio's equivalent of a train wreck. He must produce his own shows and wants to take Australia back to his halcyon days in the 1960's. He hates anyone under the age of 50.
