Other than those critical kicks, Boyd's general kicking was really good. Man, he was getting some distance. If the game plan was to kick to the corners and play for field position (which I think it was), he did his bit. But CHT went completely missing in attack and it was pretty much all Boyd. They need to work on the combination. CHT and Boyd had good defensive games. DWZ........far out......

3. RTS - in pretty vintage form
2. Leka - 2 huge plays
1. Vaimauga

HM: Taine, Voss kept mentioning how quiet he was on attack, but he made some great defensive plays. Clark and Egan were strong as usual and unlucky to miss points.

DM: DWZ, Capewell, Boyd (Boyd for his kicking late on, but this 3 were all part of a dysfunctional defensive edge).

He is... and given that should a move to 1 be considered? I wonder if we had some wings whether that might happen - but great to see

I think given the options we have at fullback it makes sense to keep him on the wing. Currently he is clearly our best winger, while TT and CNK are each in their own way very good fullbacks imo.

This has been said all year and I think it's unfair. First of all because Harris Tavita has been doing some great work on both sides of the ball. Secondly, because it's quite obviously a Webster thing, not a CHT thing.

so if Jackson Ford had challenged that lost ball at the ruck in the first half, would we have won the challenge?
-If we lose the challenge, we cant challenge Jackson Hastings charge down with 2 minutes to go -
-which leads inadvertently to the not square penalty
- which leads to the missed goal by Boyd
-which leads to the 20m drop out
-which leads to the charge down by Knights
-which leads to Leka winning the game.

I'm not really sure what point you're making here.

It was good we had a challenge up our sleeve.

So basically you're saying Ford should be getting all of our 3 point votes due to the butterfly effect...

Don’t get why Ford’s a lightning rod… DWZ, Kosi, sure, even Niukore…. Seems to be compared with elite props, which surely nobody thinks he is…

yeah, he's not elite. but he gives 100% every game, and right now is playing the extra minutes that allow Vaimauga and whoever the other interchange middle is to go hard without the fatigue factor, so he's all good, imo

3. RTS - Was an absolute machine, and this was critical without Charnze's tough yards and DWZ charging up like a kitten
2. Halasima - Could have done nothing else and still get points on that ridiculous try alone. Incredible, somehow simultaneously outran, stepped, and muscled his way. I hope we don't lose his best years to some other club.
1. Tuaupiki - Gets my points because his efforts alone basically saved two tries and kept us in game - he's nippy, tough and never says die and I hope he doesn't get put back to reserves.

HMs Clark and Egan were terrific yet again. Pompey had a better game than usual I thought.
Boyd was playing quite well after he started shanking it.

DWZ completely lost the plot yesterday and I hope it's just an aberration. He always was a wild defender, but yesterday he was clearly in Disneyland. Expecting it's a mind job and he'll come back from that.
