Yep. I know that just like I KNOW were struggling to fill a void in our halves. Sharks didnt do too good on the weekend without Johnson and Moylan. I still expect them to topple us when we play them but deep down I'll be hoping we thrash them but they are a good side with a spine that's a work in progress, but looking very promising.
They did struggle and oh yes, I reckon Johnson is going to run riot to prove a point, although did you read his comment in the paper? the guy actually said the warriors had no choice but to turf him, although he did mention SK didn't like him lmao

I did read that and how the Warriors in their subtle way showed him the way out. It's sad 'cos Shaun still speaks of us very highly of us but he is now the enemy. I wont be really mad if the Sharks beat us with Shaun playing, he can have that one win. I'd be pissed if the Sharks beat us without him playing though.

Same as it is now. There is no hard and fast rule as to how you should vote.

Yeah, but we discussed it on here. Sure Johnson never won our POTY but a lot of us didn't give him points unless he did some 'Johnson magic'.

And if he didn't, Mannering or Luck got the points.

I don't know why, but I am slightly averse to giving RTS points these days. Perhaps that's unfair. Perhaps I just hold him to a much higher standard than any other player on our team because he is clearly so much better.

I'm the same.
I tend to reward players for a game based on their individual skill set.
So an average player who has really good game can score better than a really good player who has an average game.
But, as long as the same people score enough games, this will even out in the final result.

Yeah that’s why I gave CHT points in the last game. Not because he was objectively awesome but because he did very well for a debutante.

Interesting one, usually I go exclusively on output rather than on relative to sets of skills, but I know I made exceptions for Lino, CHT, Gelling etc. when they're clearly punching hard above their weight.

RTS is genuinely the best player on the park every time he goes out, handing out 3's every week seems blasphemous but he's insanely good. Tomkins was an ineffective nice guy who tried hard but that's about it, clear distinction between effort and output.

Yeah I’m not saying I’ll give out points just for trying, they have to be effective as well. But if a newbie or borderline guy gets a call-up to reserve grade and punches above his weight he might get points ahead of a top guy who puts in a solid performance but nothing we don’t expect from him.
Guys like RTS and SJ on the big dollars have to put in big money performances to get points. Roger does that almost every week. Shaun often played games where he was doing less than guys on half his coin.

That's a pretty good point/system. All the guys on our roster have been attributed value based on the amount of salary cap they take up. If RTS for example, was playing as a 400-500k fullback (ie inconsistent, can be brilliant but drifts in and out of games/is attackingly wonderful but defensively poor) then he doesn't deserve votes even if he is in our top 2-3. Conversely, if CHT is on minimum wage but contributes very solidly and performs above his pay scale, he is delivering outstanding value to a side who is then allowed to (in the interim anyway) assign higher value in other positions across the side/squad.
