Don't get me wrong, the recruitment of Hagan was a very large mistake, we lost Hodgkinson and Maloney to keep Finch. As for DA, he axes Finch then the team started to come together. Some would say it was Hayne all by himself, personal I think the team performed well and Jarryd was allowed to shine.
I still to this day wonder what 2011 could have been like if DA was allowed to coach on. We all now have an opinion on SK, and if you take that opinion and look back at 2011, I think most would come to the conclusion that under another coach, our fading out in the last 15 minutes, might have been lessened or completely mitigated, and 2011 with our poor roster might have seen us in the finals again. Alas we have chosen this path.
I would like to remind everyone, it is more than 30 months that this administration has been in power. If we consider Football club elections in December 2008, then it is 45 months, almost 4 years. Three of those years have been unsuccessful, two spectacularly so and I don't credit this admin with the 2009 year, as any work in that season started in October or November with Anderson was appointed. Looking back on it, even with the expectations I would rather go through 2010 again then suffer the tripe that has been severed up for the last two years.
Is it a complete admin change, or complete ticket change? No I think some members of the board are well placed to serve us well, as long as they take their ego's out of the equation. What our Board members do is tireless and thankless work, but it needs to be done, it needs to happen behind the scenes and it needs to work. We also need some footy people at the footy club. Hang the expense and hire some people who know football, we have already done that with a coach, a few more positions and the club will turn around. We have the talent on the field we just need to shape them into a competitive team.
