It's not my job to pick the team and i'd have no issue if someone else was put in before him, but at least if he was picked he'd add a lot more starch to the batting line up than what the majority of this lot has shown today and throughout the summer so far. At least 3 of these shots were absolutely f**king hideous and every one of them deserves to be bagged for it.

Credit to Smith though, he scored 7 runs more than North probably would have.

Taht's the benefit of being an armchair critic, I don't have to do anything. I don't think we have the bowlers or batsmen to be a great team anyway but I don't think Ponting has done enough to keep his spot as a batsmen. I think we should have a cleanout of the players that aren't performing and just accept that we'll be rubbish for a few years and rebuild the team. That's not going to happen while Ponting is there insisting his mates are picked even if they are playing dreadfully e.g. Johnson.
