We also lack the containing type bowler(s). The loss of Bracken from the side (and probably a wobble in his form before that) has hurt a fair bit.

I really liked the look of the young swing bowler from QLd who got a couple of games last year. Could take wickets and bowl tight.

Hilfy's performance was pretty bad when you consider he didn't really bowl in the key batting power play. Plus Sehawag love the outswing. He's like Herschelle in that he doesn't move his feet and plays away from his body and has an amazing eye. Pace and outswing are just like money for jam for him but he is very vulnerable to anything that comes back in at him.

Laughlin? Never got to see him in his matches but didn't go too well when given the chance so might have fallen off the radar. McKay is a good containing bowler and has an excellent slower ball. Was equal top wicket taker in the Champions League going into the final match.

good observation, but Hilfy should be able to adjust

he just needs to bowl a bit more middle and leg with outswing so Sewag has to defend rather than free his arms and play the big shots, and also vary his pace and length without bowling half volleys

Hilfy needs to stick to test matches IMO. There are much better one day bowlers around than him I am not sure why the selectors persist with picking him.

Bigfella is spot on regards to Sehwag, any width is hammered. Siddle should be the one to trouble him but he also bowled to wide.

I'd love to see Punter have the sack to throw hauritz the ball straight up at Sehwag TBH!!

McKay can be hit around in the shorter forms of the game as he doesnt have much pace and is pretty straight, but in the right conditions he can be damaging

McKay was bowling 140km/h in the Champions League, how much more pace do you want? He continues to improve, if you see his stats for the back end of the season of the FRC you will see he was economical and took wickets. Some were saying he shouldn't have started in Victoria's champions league side, well guess what he was the 2nd leading wicket taker for the competition and he was economical.

The conditions suited him over there no doubt and McDonald is the same

140? Interesting, I always thought he was a few k's less than that, although it did say in his profile he is fitter and stronger than last year, may be adding some more pace, although I hope he doesnt do it at the expense of accuracy

As for starting, he was possibly the right choice, if Nannes was there then I couldnt see him playing but he hadnt played much T20 cricket before

How can they possibly justify picking that side!!!!! They are a pack of clowns.. Fire them all and get Warney and M. Waugh in there

Ponting opening the batting? Very interesting

Dont see what is wrong with the team, only real choice was Marsh or Voges

our top 4 have to score big runs today,

once we are 3 down we might be exposed to much, unless we are 3/290 of course :)
