he didn't even look at the umpire as he made his "appeal", either he was supremely confident (so confident that noone else appealed) or simply didn't think it was out, either way he should be copping a fine for not turning around to look at the umpire

1. Was he out?
2. Given the way some Australians reacted to the Lyon/Llong clusterf**k, what exactly are you expecting here - some apology because Marsh was correctly given out? :sarcasm:

I would expect that to never happen again, it was ugly and a blight on the game, you could see the umpire visibly pointing to the big screen, clearly saying that noone was interested until the replay was shown

Anyone know what the second trophy Baz was walking around with?

Just an ANZ sponsorship series trophy?

Yep, fair enough. The big screen component in sports is not something I am particularly comfortable with.

What does this series win do for our ODI ranking?

Up to #2 again?

Think of the children, it was a terrible thing - poor Mitch Marsh, robbed because he was out

 "ugly and a blight on the game" oh the irony

if you start waiting for replays before pleading your case to the umpire.. it's going to leave a foul taste in the mouth of the opposition and their fans because in a DRS situation you have an allocated period of time before you can or cannot ask for a review, why should it be different in any other situation?

if there was no replay, there is no review, that's what it comes down to.. I know your agenda here is the entire situation with Nathan Lyon and his review not being given out but that's not even relevant in this case because at least then the process for the review was followed, the decision making was wrong but the process is how it should be done

Like I said, the big screen is an issue. We've seen it in other codes, more so than in cricket.

Henry appealed, albeit minimally.

The umpires decided to review it, as is their right.

Right decision.

Really not the controversial, though the big screen element is problematic

Henry did appeal initially. The rule is you can lodge an appeal up to the point of the bowler beginning to run in for the next delivery. In truth, he was out. Remember, for a stumping, run out, or bump ball catch, this is not a team review. These can only be called by an umpire. The team only gets permission to lodge an appeal for a catch based on was it hit or leg before.

Right decision was made.

Henry appealed.

M Marsh did not walk.

McCullum conferred before Henry ran in for the next ball.

Fighting this will not end well for Australia.

Great series, though.

Rematch next year will hopefully be a cracker.

I have no problem with the decision, I have a problem with the replay being shown which had a direct impact on the decision to review

NZ deserved their victory and were the better team, I don't know that we picked our best possible team but I guess when losing the series won't effect your overall ranking in ODI's there's no need, I think the selectors were saving a few players for the test series (as they did in the short format games back home), that remains to be seen

I dont think anyone dispute that Marsh was out, however the replay should never have been played till the next ball was bowled.

The Kiwis only appealed the decision once they saw the replay, precedent has now been set.

Will players wait for the replay now before reviewing the decision ?

I don't think we will see any replays so soon anymore, this could open a huge can of worms.

Without Boult, Southee, Santner and Taylor available today, we understand what its like to have Starc and Patto unavailable injured and cotton wooled. We wish Finch had played, though.

You're denying Henry appealed?

Interesting.

My opinion of Steve Smith has lowered a little in this series, but I don't have an issue with his post match comments. They were totally fine
