In all seriousness why do the keep picking him??? Obviously I haven't seen as much of him as Aussies but he so doesn't look like a test bat
Him and his brother have incriminating photos of Greg Chappell, Trever Hohn involving livestock

This effort is actually worse than the Hobart effort a couple of years ago.

That was tricky conditions against a quality bowling attack.

This is a benign pitch against Bumrah and 10 other blokes with beards.

Get rid of the dead wood, finch, marsh dicks for starters and Head if he doesn't score here.

Put anyone else in.

Australia need to so this.

Take proven test performers warner, Smith, khawaja, Paine and the bowlers. Send all the other merkins home to get their pyjamas and follow the stick cricket around from tournament to tournament.

Go through the shield teams and find top order batsman who make steady runs but aren't adventurous enough to make it in stick cricket and fill out the rest of the batting lineup.

Suckle at the teat of success for years to come.

Feel a bit for Finch. He hasnt selected himself and he's just not good enough.

Finch vs Test Cricket is equivalent of a jobber facing Mike Tyson in his prime. Sure he has a punchers chance of pulling off a miracle, but he will always be horrifically mismatched

Good luck. The T20 tickle fests are held as shining examples of how to play right down to the u6 entry point for juniors. Anyone with patience, determination, grit is seen as such.

As a coach and umpire, I actually got sick of hearing parents' applause for big hits and pin drops for block outs to tight bowling, good calls for YES - NO - WAIT and for looking for 1s and 2s, that I told them I wanted to conduct an experiment. When they thought about it, they agreed with me. So now we get good applause for running singles, loud calls, leaving the ball or playing it on its merits and blocking. The kids in turn found themselves doing the 1%ers and building innings and not always looking for the BIG shot to straight on balls. It was win win. A little mindset change but really worked. At u10 level, I wanted the kids to know that they would be appreciated for doing ALL these things. Some still swing like dunny doors, and we have heaps of fun, but they know it's not all crash bang wallop like other teams failing around them.

Mitch as well. But we are better off picking a 5th specialist bowler than suggesting Mitch is a batting all rounder.

Cricket Australias search for Buster Douglas is not looking good.
