I remember when the phrase "he's still developing" applied to > 22 year olds.
But it gets applied to 30 year old batsmen these days.
I'm sure I've heard a variation used for Shaun Marsh recently enough and he's the same age as Cameron Smith.
Well to be fair I think you're always developing as a player. And players do play longer these days
But yeah, there's a point where a guy like Marsh is no longer developing and becomes a never-quite-was.
That being said, Shaun Marsh is absolutely in the best six bats in Australia. There are other reasons not to pick him, age and a history of failure chiefly, but he is 100% one of the best bats in Australia. That's the extent of our woes right there.
