I was listening to ABC about an hour ago and they were saying how Peter Handscomb made runs last night in a T20 game.

All the media said the same thing, he stuck it up the selectors despite he fact that it was a T20, lol

I also heard an interview with Kevin Roberts on Grandstand this morning, man this guy is just in denial about everything including the MCG pitch. When asked was he concerned about the small T20 crowds he just said we should not be talking about crowd averages, rather crowd aggregate when the series is over. It goes for 3 months ffs, of course the aggregate will be bigger.

The guy just sounded like a politician being interviewed and would not answer certain questions just goes on with his spin doctoring of issues making out everything is warm and fuzzy.

I'd still have Smith and Warner playing FC cricket at least when the shield resumes.
Our dearth of talent and horrible scheduling has been brutally exposed.

Doubt that, he's a f**kwit plain and simple

The Jaapies went too far off the field but the hypocrisy and more in Warner's behaviour is beyond anything I can recall

And it's a team game, one merkin of that magnitude is one too many, he's not irreplaceable by any stretch unless of course you try to replace him with Finch
There's the issue. We have absolutely no one to replace him. I'd have given Maxwell an extended run in the side and had Khawaja open, but Maxwell's papers seem stamped now tbh

Australian test cricketers absolutely detest CA and the set up.

It's not just punters like us bemoaning cricket in Australia on forums or social media.

There's a huge element of head in the sand at head office. People wonder why ex players don't go anywhere near the set up or in coaching etc,

Marshes get to fail over and over and over again while other players get papers stamped after a bad game.

Warner is 32. If he was going to grow up, he would have already

I dont think immaturity is his problem, more like dickheadedness (if there is such a word), which maybe something you just cant grow out of.

We were told by Punter yesterday that he will walk straight back into our team as he is one of the best batsmen in the world. He'd certainly be a huge improvement over Fatty inch and he bowls better too.

With the resources etc you have that's an unforgivable failure IMO

We have no depth because cricket is a hobby here with a small population and other sports dominant... you are Australian cricket, the All Blacks don't have this issue and even in the 80s you didn't, you were getting beaten by quality teams and introducing Boon, Jones, Mathews, Waugh, McDermott etc and sticking with them

When the Windies had an attack of Fidel Edwards, Jerome Taylor and Fidel Best it had to be one of the shortest of all time.

Simon Jones was no giant either and look what he managed.

There's this bloke names Dale Steyn who's no giant too.

James Anderson is only tallish.

potato, potato

(that doesn't work as well in type- but does describe Warner well either way)

Why does JL pick M.Marsh as our all rounder?
Patrick Cummins is our all rounder. Even Gary is a better batter than Mitch.

Interesting if a batsmen’s first class average is 50+ they seem to adapt to test match cricket which seems to be case with batsmen’s in this Indian team, however when you have averages in the 30’s in first class cricket like the Australian batsmen do,the selectors are then kidding themselves if they think their performances are going to improve playing test cricket.

It's our domestic set up. It's no longer based on merit. It's now more about potential. If you don't show it by a certain age you're on the scrapheap.
