If you look at our top 6 and the methods they were selected and you can see how bad a state cricket in Australia is.

CA doesn't seem to care so it's gonna get worse
When Smith comes back his average is going to get better due to be being stranded on 40 NO. Apparently Smith is immortal and is totally gonna play forever. He has too because no heir apparent.

I had a longer reply but good old internal server error so yeah.

Off topic, I just saw Alastair Cook is to be knighted.

Sir Alastair Cook...

Last cricketer knighted was Richard Hadlee in 1990.

Australia certainly missed the boat by ending knighthoods.

We could have Sir Allan, Sir Steve, Sir Ricky, Sir Glenn, Sir Shane, Sir Adam...

I just don’t see the reasoning to pick a fat 32 year old slogger, what is the point??? Could they really see him scoring runs at the top of the order in England???

Renshaw is the best opening prospect in Aus and he should of been preserved with.
Fatty's selection was beyond illogical.

I'm picturing him batting in England and the results would be hilarious. No way would he average over 10 across the 5 Test series.

Just on Shaun Marsh, how must Callum Feeguson feel watching this spud get chance after chance... after chance after chance, when he has a comparable first class record and got dropped for good after ONE TEST.

And he was run out in one of those innings.

Stamped never to play again.

Joe Burns must feel the same.

But Shaun Marsh? He can average 15 across half a dozen tests at 35 and still get picked!

Australian cricket is beyond rotten.

In fairness, Ferguson ran himself out like a clown.

The one that beggars belief is Doolan. Good first class bat, excellent technician, if he was Alex Darsh he’d have played 70 tests by now.
