I remember over a decade ago now being told by my coach, that if you can string 3 maidens overs together, you're a chance of getting a wicket.

Went pretty close to proving that true right there. Good ball from Starc, took his time to get it right.

He needs a bagfull now, looks like he's settled down now and is starting to ball better and less erratic.

Hastings, an underdone Starc and Johnson.

f**k I could be the best bowler in the test side if I was picked.

He wasn't selected for the last test because simply put, if he couldn't bowl then he couldn't field either, given the nature of his injury.

Are you utterly f**king stupid?

Fact is that his bowling is far superior to his batting. If he didn't bowl there would be serious questions asked by now about his place in the side.

Of course, he can bat but his stats don't make for spectacular reading. I have no doubt he is a far better batsman than his stats suggest, but at the end of the day you have to go out there and get the job done.

So if you ask me right now, I would say that Watto is quite clearly a bowling all-rounder.

McGrath has said that same thing about 50 times so far in commentary this series

Yes and Hughes got dropped. So you further prove my point. Watsons batting isn't keeping him in the team. It's his bowling.
No you idiot.

Players always go through slumps but will eventually come back to good form. Watson has been retained because:
*He's the Vice captain
*He will bounce back with the bat, as he has done in the past
*Because he is an all rounder

Hughes hasn't been recalled because he couldn't bounce back when his form dipped.

In my view, it's easy to look like a good bowler when surrounded by hack bowlers.

Its hard to look like a top batsmen when surrounded by good batsmen in form.

Watson in my view has looked all the bit a batsmen and far more capable as a batsmen than he ever has as a bowler, especially at test level.
