Because our batting line-up is pus. The only blokes is any sort of form are Warner, Huss & Clarkey. Add in Steyn, Morkel & Philander and we'll get rolled for 150 again
A Clarke double century with solid cameos on the other end would get us most of the way there.

Warner 50
Cowan 50
Watson 50
Ponting 100
Clarke 200
Hussey 100

Unfortunately, theres no obligation for the Saffas to declare. What if the lead is 650- 675?
If they bat well into tomorrow then all of a sudden a draw does come into play. If the lead is towards 700 and we have less than 5 sessions, batting it out is doable.

I really wished Starc or even Hastings had taken Johnson's wickets. 5 for the game will see him in the side for at least a couple more series

Ridiculous to think after 5 sessions both first innings were complete

and with the game unlikely to finish tonight. It doesnt even look like the same game

529 in front and Proteas have barely raised a sweat. We had to sit through some insipid, gutless sh*t when the Poms visited last but this is probably worse because we got some hope on the opening day this time.

Yes upsetting to see him take wickets while others are struggling????

Seriously his form at the WACA is meaningless surely?

From what I've seen of Starc so far this match he seems more like a " work in progress"

He should be nicknamed Pastings on the back of his second innings bowling effort

Some disspirited Australian cricketers out there at the moment

Ive watched alot of cricket in my time, but i don't think ive seen a poorer front-line "pace" bowler than Hastings.

He's absolutely awful. And yet, if he's been averaging 23 in FC Cricket so far this year what does that say about batting in FC Cricket in this country?

Also Lyon is just horrible, too.Give me six months practice and i could bowl pies as badly as he does.
